Primaris Ancient or Primaris Apothecary.

There is already a thread about the viability of a Primaris force so let's not start repeating those arguments however, I'm about to start on a 2k Primaris force and have ended up with 70 points to spare. I'm happy with the rest of the list (mostly infantry) so I was wondering which would be better, an apothecary or the ancient. With the Standard of the Emperor Ascendant you get to shoot or attack on a 3+ when a model pops off. Alternatively I imagine it would be frustrating for an opponent if slain models simply get back up again to continue the fight. What say the frater...

Do you use hellblasters? If so, it's the Ancient all the way.

Ancient first, then if you have 70 points spare an Apothecary.

Ok chaps, thanks. The main deciding factor though was that I get an Ancient in the starter set whilst an apothecary is £20.

Ancient with Relic is almost an auto-include, while the apothecary is an afterthought at best. Too unreliable.

While I don't believe in using primaris, the normal apothecary has been great for me since I do have a bit of character spam...

 

His 4 chainsword attacks tend to do more than other stronger characters....
