Okay so after a little while without updates (I have been doing stuff, just forgetting to update here) I have a bit of a picture dump ahead. So here goes:
" Brenner! Get that gun up! Winters! Trench detail at the double! Sergeant Bleaker, I want that ruin strong enough to withstand a direct artillery hit by nightfall or I swear to Him on Terra the Commiserate will hear of it!" Captain Danse spat orders at his men as they hurried to their duties. He turned to see his Communications Officer standing beside him,
"Report, Soldier!" he demanded and the voxmen saluted smartly,
" Request for reinforcements from the front line, Sir!" he said and Danse smiled grimly,
" About damned time..." he said and turned back to his men.
Captain Ahrnem Danse is a fine example of a Officer of the New Eden Rifles. Stern and unflappable he commands the 124th Division of the 13th New Eden Rifles, and is widely regarded as one of the most senior officers of the Regiment. Young by the standards of many of the regiments officers he had an incredibly meteoric rise from the ranks following the death of the former Captain of the 124th during the opening days of the campaign on Incipios. A fair but uncomprimising officer he had earned the trust of Colonel Katrin, leader of the 13th, whom saw his take command of the 124th Division.
Like many of the regiments officers Danse is born of the planets original aristrocratic stock, a fact he is all to aware of. Like his colonel, however, he is a strong believer in merit over birthright makes a man or woman a good officer and is quick to put those whom prove themselves under fire in position of authority. That hasn't completely erased the old prejudices, however, and he has been know to be slower to trust those whose blood lines come from the workers or, worse, criminals, of New Eden.
Danse was not part of The Calling, the name given to the random draft that fills the numbers of the New Eden regiments but rather volunteered to serve in the planets PDF before being called into the 13th. Indeed it was his heroic actions during the PDF's actions during the defence of New Eden against the dark eldar raiders that would see him gifted with a relic bolt pistol from the Iron Heralds Astartes that dates back to the Chapter's founding. Tech-priests assigned to the warzone wont touch the weapon, stating dark whispers surround its machine spirit. Danse dismisses such accusations as heresy as a weapon of the Astartes must surely be as pure as the warriors whom wielded it.
So there we have the start of Captain Danse, for the New Eden Rifles. This is, of course, for the recent "Trooping the Colours" Astra Militarum Challenge (why not kill two xenos with one bolter I always say).
I have also been working on the Malignant Plague Caster for the Angels of Decay. He is almost finished bar basing and a few paints I am missing so I wont post a pic of him yet till he is finished.
Next off the rank is:
" Run ya' bleedin' gitz! Hide if ya' think ya' can! Me and me boyz 'il find ya' and rip ya' apart! WAAAAAGH!!!!!" Warboss Grazok Grotrippa - Ork invasion of Incipios
The beast known as Warboss Grazok Grotrippa is perhaps one of the greatest foes known to the sub-sector and indeed, if allowed to breach from the system, the Imperium as a whole. Whilst not the toughest ork boss in the Bleak Grazok is brutally cunning and has, as much through ruthless manipulation as sheer brute strength, united many of the disparate tribes of the Bleak behind his banner. In numbers not seen since the Black WAAAGH that nearly spelt the doom of the Iron Heralds Astartes WAAAGH Grotrippa has spilt from the uncharted Bleak and smashed into Imperium space like the hammer of some long forgotten gods wrath.
Half his skull and, some say brain, replaced with bionics by his pet big mek Fogrot following an earlier encounter with the Iron Heralds Astartes Grazok is possessed of an impressive cunning for one of his species. There are whispers that, whatever Fogrot did it has some how infused the beast with a cunning from some warp based entity.
Grazok is the driving force behind the WAAAGH and his death would likely bring about the destruction of the invasion as, although no doubt one of his senior Nobz would take control, none would be possessed of the same low cunning that Grazok posseses. A fact not lost on the Imperium whom has so far lost two kill teams of the Ordo Xenos attempting to end the ork Warbosses life. Along with, if rumours can be believed, at least one vindicare assasin.
I painted Grazok some time ago (it shows in the quality of his painting). He is a blending of the remaining parts of an earlier ork warboss conversion I did when I last collected the hobby. I might touch up and repaint a few things eventually but for now he is done.
