I've thought the same thing. Doesn't make much sense for the Salamanders to not have a successor chapter at this point.

I mean jeez Louise, the Raven Guard have two. They were just as scarred from the Drop Site massacre as the Salamanders.

I'm hoping the Nemesors are also Salamanders because that name just sounds awesome.

the black dragons and the storm Giants are all but confirmed to be salamander successors. It's likely that the Fire Lords are a successor chapter too.

Also, the Raven Guard have two confirmed successor chapters and three unconfirmed chapters.

Where were the Black Dragons and Storm Giants confirmed? Just curious.

5 confirmed.

Black Guard, Raptors, and Revilers are 2nd Founding Raven Guard successors.

Knights of the Raven and Death Spectres are also confirmed, but not 2nd Founding.

Only the Carcharodons are unconfirmed, but Forge World has said they are.

The Salamanders didn't have enough of their Legion left for a 2nd Founding Chapter, but the Storm Giants and Black Dragons are strongly suspected to be later Founding successors.

Pretty sure the Fire Lords are Imperial Fists successors.

it's unconfirmed whether they're successor chapters, but it's so heavily implied that they are that I count them as successors.

@claws and effect: The Fire Lords have a massive love of fire and they recruit from the same area as the salamanders. They could be Imperial Fists successors, but even in the actual codexes their true lineage is called into question and they're directly compared to the Salamanders. Combine that with more than a dozen other cases of successor chapters thinking that they come from one legion when they actually come from another legion all together and your guess could be just as good as mine.

Well until proven otherwise... Salamanders received all Primaris into their fold and did not create any successor chapters are they are still technically a legion. They were allowed to not split when they were splitting chapters and now Guilliman thinks that splitting them was a bad idea.

They didn't split them because there was only like, 1200 of them left after the dropsite massacre.

I know I'm bumping a half dead topic, but I'm pretty sure there were significantly less than that. I'm pretty sure that one of the biggest groups of Salamanders after Istvaan IV were the ones that brought Vulkan's body back to Nocturne. They only numbered about 60.

Even if we assumed that there was an average of two Salamanders on every Raven Guard and Iron Hands ship, that would still be under 1,000. And even that is a massive overestimate.

If we take things at face value, then the Salamanders had 1000-700 marines at the time of Codex adoption and the second founding.

I dont think the Salamanders were down to. 200 guys after Isstvan. There are always strays out there that wouldn't have been at Isstvan. And just becuase only 60 made it to Ultramar doesn't mean more survivors didn't hide out in other areas or make it all the way back to Nocturne.

Except the Fire Lords have a modified version of the Imperial Fists symbol as their chapter badge, AND they were featured in the novel Legion of the Damned as partaking in the 816th Feats of Blades, and specifically are stated to be successors of Imperial Fists in it.

Their FOUNDING is unknown, but they've been confirmed as Fists successors for a long time. That being said, their fire-loving nature means most people would use the Salamanders Chapter tactics for them.
