Thought I would start posting up my new force and you can't have Mars without Mr. Crawl.

Thanks all.

Forgot to add that the base is not done. Still need to add some grass to spots.

Not sure why but my tank loving AM friend does not like either of my Dunecrawler.

You can also see here how I have decided to go with grey instead of cream as my secondary color.

Great colours, the red and blue particularly complete the scheme neatly :tu:

Good job on Cawl and the Kastelan. The Onager is well painted, but it needs unit markings to distinguish it from other red-painted Onagers in other people's armies.

Wolf Scout- Catachan barking toad eggs+ Thousand Sons Marine= Fun! (Wolves of Catachan)
Sisters of Battle+ Fenrisian Beer- Inhibitions- Sanity= Trouble! (Order of the Blazing Heart Rocket Punch Pimp Magnet She-Wolf)

Reasons to use the Steel Crusaders ('Codex: Space Marines' supplement): Because you think giving Sternguard Veterans a heavy bolter wtih special issue HEAVY BOLTER ammunition is ALMOST as much fun as shoehorning an Earthshaker cannon into a Land Raider.

Reasons to use the Iron-hearted Angels ('Codex: Blood Angels' supplement): Because you think the Librarian Dreadnought needs Furious Charge AND It Will Not Die to beat down a Chaos-worshiping punk and his Defiler, while a Stormraven needs a Vanquisher cannon to beat down this punk's Heldrake.

Never thought to give my tanks markings to distinguish between mine and someone else's tanks. Interesting.

Seeing how I have never even seen another Ad Mech army though I will probably just stick with the paint job I have for now.

Moar Robot!

Interesting re-pose.  It's certainly dynamic, but I can't help feeling the end result is a bit lopsided.  Did you pin the knee in place?

Commorites working with Craftworlders is like Autobots working with Decepticons.

Yeah it is a bit lopsided.

At some point I will pop him off and build up some cork for his right leg to sit on since he is not pinned.

Yeah the second one looks halfway between taking a knee and falling over. Might just be the camera angle. Certainly a more interesting pose than the default!

It may be due to my personal bias and a desire to fill in the big space on the Onager's front hull, but I doubt you're the only person with a red AdMech army. Displaying unit insignia is a way for your Skitarii to show pride in the forge world they serve, to minimize the risk of fratricide (combat stress can make Imperial allies misidentify the Onager as a Chaos Defiler, and shoot at it), as well as for you to nonverbally say, "See these awesome-looking models? I assembled and painted them."

I agree with Bjorn. Decorate your models however you wish, but a little extra time to add some unit markings just takes the model to the next level.

Anyway, I like the highlights on your first robot, it reminds me of the sort of art style from the Borderlands games, particularly the grey on the arms. :)

Yeah I feel what you are putting down in regards to markings. Would look great to fill up the dead space on the front with a little something and I will at some point.

Just right now the army is not even complete and I also have two other armies I am putting the finishing touches on so will be a while.

WIP sorting out my balance challenged Robot.

He is free of his base with minimal damage and as a fortuitous bonus the glue holding his front ankle joint in place broke. Will be nice so I can reposition his foot on the new base.
