Issues with Alaitoc VS Emperors children

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

I recently got my hand kida handed over in a 2500 Points Battle

Alaiatoc eldar vs EC...

I found it pretty hardcore that eldar kida kan reroll pretty much all hit and wound rolls against slaanesh units. As an EC - Player that kida is a prolem. =D

Second that -1 to hit trait combined with some stratagems or psycic powers which also reduce the hit roll by another -1 pretty much kills the effectiveness of blastmasters and pretty much everything...

In addition Eldar can buy FNP for all their tanks or 10 points which my opnent did... Wich even lowered my chance to inflict damage.

Any ideas what could help without building a tailored list against that specific opponent.

List consistetd roughly from:

3 Hellbrutes
4 Noise marine suquads

3 CUltist squads

1 Rhino

5 plasma Terminators

1 SOrcerer in Terminator armour

1 Lord in Terminator armour

Both to buff my Deepstriking terminators

1 Dark apostle

1 Sorcerer

2 Lords

1 Warmpsmith - who did nothing exept melting some face because everey hellbrute died in round one -.-

I had issuse encountering A camping illum Zar in combination with a wraith knight and a battlebus full of HQ units all at the same time while my hellbrutes unluckily got sniped out in turn one without doing much.

I had big problems in removing chaff because of the -1 to hit. and the heavy weapons also missed a lot because of that.

any Ideas?

Maybe deep striking units like obliteraters or terminators within 12 or if you are able to use Forgeworld then maybe a dred claw full of noises. It would seem you need to get in close to bypass the -1 buff to shooting. Having multiple squads of deep striking shooting with the option to double tap could definitely thin down the threats. But you need more speed, what about bikers? They are fast and can lay down some fire. But that sounds like a facepalm of a match up.

Try a Daemon Prince with elixir and talons. That's a lot of S8 attacks. Overall Daemon Princes are simply good this Codex no matter what you do with them imo.

Warpsmiths on the other hand are just bad unfortunately.

Another point is that it looks to me that you have too many HQs. Buffing stuff is nice and everything but if you run out of things to buff it's wasted points. 10 Plasma Terminators is a great number to kill basically everything you point at the turn you drop.

Get yourself some Lascannon Havocs as well. Ranged pressure is always nice. If you think they're too squishy replace them with LasPreds (tho those can't shoot twice with the Stratagem).

Keep in mind that the -1 to-hit trait only works >12". Get close with your Noise Marines and you shouldn't have problems killing the chaff.

Yeah. More speed. Maybe double up 2x5 Noise Marines in that Rhino and add a second bolter to it for close in fire. Might want to try a Doom Siren and Combi-Bolter on each champ.

Bikes, Termies, a Winged Daemon Prince, and some Oblits would all be good. A Daemon detachment with Seekers and Fiends would help too.

I have 3 squads of havocs on the painting bench atm. (4 las 4 rocket launcher 4 heavy bolter ones) painting is currently on halt because i am building a board currently though. A 5th blastmaster marine is also in the making. Demon prince is on the list for future investments.

OP, I think you've been had. Ancient Doom only allows Eldar to reroll failed wound rolls in the Fight Phase of a turn in which they charged or were charged by a Slaanesh unit.

Unless they were using Guide and Doom, but those are psychic powers and come with their own restrictions.
