It's clearly a 7th edition army - old command squad, imagifiers in squads, mis-identified models, and invalid as a patrol detachment. Is this new or repackaged? You see this and doesn't it immediately make you think that all those "my warhammer store guy told me" rumors of plastic Sisters being here in just a few months are just complete bunk? At least before Veridyan and Plastic Celestine we saw the blister sales becoming unavailable before they were re-packaged to fit in with our Imperial Agents rebirth just before the end of 7ed. Everything is AT COST, meaning no price discount anywhere in the collection. And its incredibly stupid of them not to drop the price if they are trying to clear the Metal product to make way for plastic product. I even stated as much on their facebook post. I like that you have a huge battleforce buying option for Sisters of Battle, but I am really disappointed with just how much of a price tag it has. If you are trying clear out all your metal sisters to make way for plastic, you are going to have to reduce the price if you are trying to clear it out. Sisters are obscenely overpriced, $110 for a squad of 10 seraphim, $80 for a squad of 10 sisters, each. Dominion squad is $55, command squad is $55. especially with heavy weapons or special weapon sisters are $14 a pop, without some kind of discount you are going to have a hard time selling these even if someone wants to start up a sororitas army. for $500, you could buy so much more for every other army.For $500 in Custodes alone, I could go this route and still get more bang for my buckTrajan - 35Allarus squad - 5010 man Guard Squad - 12010 man guard squad - 120Venerable Land Raider - 74.25Venerable Contemptor Dreadnought - 60Adeptus Custodes Codex - 40Total = $499.25 (before taxes)For sororitas you would still need to buy the index AND chapter approved before you could even play the army. A squad of 10 seraphim is $110, but a squad of 10 assault marines $82 and you actually get weapon choices for them. A squad of 10 battle sisters is $80, but a squad of 10 intercissors is $60 and a squad of 10 tactical marines is $50. The remaining is the whole plastic privelidge thing. People saying they dont sell because theyre a bad army or have no appeal are... well the words im thinking of arent PG13. Needless to say, if marines cost as much as sisters do and were metal, they wouldnt sell. Go on ebay and sisters sell so fast because its so much cheaper. Everything else sells real average. I sold off a whole heap of necrons and grey knights a couple years ago and i had too renew the auction to get them to move. Tried to sell my sisters (was really strapped for cash) and there were several bids anf loads of messages about them in 2 days...wound up canceling it and keeping them and glad i did. Even if the results or the survey convince them it may take two years to get plastics out. Interestingly when custodes were revealed on Facebook there was a massive backlash from people who had thought we might finally see sisters - I don't think he knew how to handle it - I think it's the first time they've had such a negative reaction since they started trying to engage with the customer base. I've been hoping after all that happened that they might tease a picture of a plastic sister even if it says not coming for a while. That bundle is just over £300 for an army that doesn't even reach 1,000 points unless you go overboard on equipment, and this is in an age where you can pick up Start Collecting boxes that usually fall somewhere in the 400-500 points range for £40 or less from third-party retailers. Hell, I've been looking into Primaris Marines lately and GW ask less than £3 more for 10 Hellblasters than a min-size Meltagun Dominion Squad when the former clocks in more than 200 points dearer on the tabletop. It's not the starter bundle I would have planned, but it is all stuff SoB players will need. I feel that it's not as bad as some are saying. I think if you're comparing it to other armies you're always going to decide it's not worth it. But if you're committed to wanting to play Sisters and want to invest in an instant small collection with a variety of representative models and units, I think this works. I think two squads of Battle Sisters should have been the core. As it is it's a bit more of a "sampler pack" rather than the foundation of a playable army. I think that is a valid criticism of the bundle. Metal vs plastic and the price thereof, not so much. Sisters are metal, and it is what it is, for now. EDIT: I looked again, and two BSS are indeed included, so I withdraw that criticism. I am on my cruddy phone and don't have my reading glasses... I WANT a sisters force really very badly but I'm not paying utterly extortionate amounts for monopose metal models. I think GW looks at it's sister models and think "well these aren't selling" and that's the reason they don't get an update. AAAAAAAAH! Even the huge boob "sexy" raging heroes models are selling well because people want a sisters army. Celestine's sold out a couple of times now (although that could have been the other two characters in the box). Hopefully she sells out again in her own box when it's out soon. Raging Heroes is doing so well because they are at least giving us Sister's models in resin. Wargaming exclusive's Celestine looks like garbage compared to GW's, it's overdone and the ridiculous 'armor cleavage' even on the less misogynistic one is frankly idiotic. And sexier=worse in general for the entire SoB line. I completely wrote off everything but the knights of the chalice from Raging Heroes the moment they switched from boots to the terribly sculpted, completely pointless high heels. Would I have purchased it even if I had the money, no cause I can get stuff cheaper off ebay even if I have to strip the paint off the models. Not to mention I could get way more stuff from the other factions whom are mostly plastic ( space wolves in my case ). Plus I'd rather spend that kind of money on a Plastic Sisters of Battle release. It's not even a legal TWO patrol detachments. A patrol detachment can have at most two Elites choices. Because the command squad no longer exists and imagifiers are their own units, there are five elites choices in this bundle: 1 Hospitaller 1 Diaologus 3 Imagifiers The rest works because you can split the 10-man (now 9-man) sister squads into squads of five and add the flamer sister and the spare bolter sister from the old Command Squad to the two four-model squads.
