Forge World Plasma Cannon cables

I just got some plasma cannons from Forge World that have the cabling the you heat and bend.

Do you bend them before you prime them or can you prime first?

My brainfruits logic engine says if I prime first, then bend, the primer coat will crack, but I wanted to make sure.

A small highjack, but would it be best to use a bowl of warm water for this sort of thing? I guess it's too small for the hair dryer treatment?

When it's "floppy" do you just hold it in place on the model and wait for it to cool to make the shape?

Yes, I prefer the bowl of hot water trick myself. The issue I have with the hair dryer is that it's quite hard to control how much heat goes into the resin part(s), and you can end up damaging/warping it/them if you're not careful.

I also prefer to hold parts in place until they cool a bit (gently blow air across them, as the evaporation will help cool them faster), and then dunk in some cold water at the end if it's bigger/thicker part.

Pro-tip: for the hot water, use a bigger bowl, put it on a heat-proof pad, and wrap an old towel around it. This stops heat-marks on the table, soaks up any splashes, and keeps the water hot for longer. ;)

I usually just set a bowl of cold water with ice by the kitchen sink, then run the tap at full hot. FW resin is pliable/soft enough that hot straight from the tap is enough for bending. Run it under the tap, carefully bend it to shape, then submerge in the ice water. Repeat 2-3 times to make sure the shape is right and help it keep the shape better.
