....................................Thousand Sons codex preorder Jan 27.

Thank you for the heads up guys.

Let’s keep new info here, and reveals including the Warhammer TV reveals here, and the wishlisting in the existing thread.

It should be a very exiting week for us.

18 power's is nuts, dark hereticus, tzeentch demons, and a Thousand Sons set probably ? So excited.

Pretty much, considering Magnus and the daemon prince both had 1 power from the tzeentch daemons discipline: Magnus had infernal gateway and Daemon Prince had gaze of fate.

I think only the daemon princes and magnus might get access to tzeentch daemon powers and the other two disciplines, sorcerers and exalteds might only get access to dark hereticus and thousand sons one and aspiring sorcerers, scarab occult sorcerers and shamans might get access to only the thousand sons discipline. Hope i'm wrong though, as going from only nerfed smite to a choice of 18 powers on aspiring sorcerers would be awesome (and gaze of fate would be a very useful spell on them, as it's easy to cast).

18 power's got me all pump up too, goat be damn, but 18 power... that does it for me. Will be interesting to see the leaks as they come.

Edit.: Did I dream this, or there was mention of something for cultist in the codex?

They did say that cultists would benefit from being thousand sons. That is why there was a lot of speculation that the legion trait is 2 part and not just +6" to spells

To anyone who knows: how long is it normally from when a codex goes on preorder to its actual release?

Adeptus Custodes went on pre-order 01/20 and will be released 01/27. TS will be up for preorder on 01/27 and presumably will be released 02/03.

Hikaru (the guy who leaked most of the chaos daemons codex before its release so his information is reliable) has started posting stuff on dakka.

Skyfires are 2W. 2 S5 -1 1 dmg guns.
BS/WS3 5++
Shaman gives them +1 to hit.
51 points with greatbow FOR 3.

They have 3 options:
Chainsword & Bolt Pistol (?)
Great Bow
and a spear, i forgot exact stats but it does 2 dmg on charge.

Disc do 1 attack , S4 0 1
Sergeant does 3 A, each Tzaangor 2A.
So a unit of 3 does 10A.

Magnus went up by 30 points.

Mutalith are about 150.
Shaman is 80-90, i forgot.

Vast majority of units did not get any point changes. Some weapons went down abit, some characters went up, all within 5 pt difference.
--------------
Bad news on Magnus, unless he got buffs elsewhere like a cleave attack it's gonna be tough to justify him with both a nerf to his survivability and a points increase... On the other hand the skyfires seem pretty dang gud.

Would like to hear more about why magnus is worse now besides the point increase and survivability. Like how much more his aura's changed, and he has access to more powers now. 30 points sucks but its not a lot.

What do you mean by cleave attack?

Too bad above Magnus, he wasn't amazing before, certainly not an auto take like Gulliman and nerfed.

Also I think SO Terminators need a points adjustment worse than anything else. Now that can deepstrike my Rubrics why keep the termies. Unless I have both extra points and have to reserve the command points.

I’m a little disappointed with the Magnus news. I really didn’t find him too hot in my Thousand Sons list. I can only summize this may push him further into Daemon lists with the deep strike .... unless he gains access to it inherently with Thousand Sons.. which you never know, he might.

It's been made very clear by the Frontline Gaming guys that the daemons deep strike stratagem will not work on Morty or Magnus once the daemons codex FAQ rolls around. If Magnus gets the ability to deep strike it'll come in the Thousand Sons dex.

I have listened to a lot of what the FLG guys have said and I wouldn't say they made it clear, and so much synergy has existed and continues to exist between demons and CSM I dont know why they would take that away. Plus they just needed Magnus so he is going to need all the help he can get.

No offence to those guys but I said it the minute it came out. The playtesting system is not that great. That said there is a Daemon strat that makes Grey Knights the worst Dameonhunters in the game, so as much as I respect Frankie and and co. I’ll wait until said FAQ. ( though for the record the day that deep strike was revealed I said ‘enjoy it for the month that it’s legal)

Regardless we know from the warhammerTV game that deepstrike is a thing from within the new codex We also know that there is a Gate power and a relic. If any of this pertains to Magnus, it would make him valid.

Honestly I don’t really understand his point increase. I have to believe his increase must come from his new abilities. He must be a complete beast in the Psychic phase with some very potent (survivable and or destructive) abilities.

On the plus side the (possible) nerfs to Magnus make including him in a more casual game more of a thing, depending on who you play against.

In his current state I wouldn't even think of bringing him against anyone in my store except a few people, so he sits in my displace case by the register.

Trying to be positive here.

The wait is killing me... I hope my LGS gets the codex in advance !

And I also hope Exalted Sorcerers / Rubrics / Scarabs have awesome synergies because I don't want another horde army. I main Orks so buying another 90+ models is a no-go for me...

I know the feeling, my secondary army is Guard (and for obvious reasons i refuse to field Leman Russ tanks), so it's a mainly infantry guard :biggrin.:

However, I already have a decent collection of tzeentch daemons, so i guess getting some more tzaangors wouldn't be too much of an issue. However i do want the rubrics to be good (for the first time in several editions lol)

And yeah, the waiting is the worst.

I mean, before they announced custodes and sons as the next two books I was totally prepared to wait till June, as i thought we would be the finishing two codices with the wolfy wolves. But since they announced the codex, I can't wait to KNOW EVERYTHING
