I thought it was camouflage- maybe the weapon is a prize seized in battle, considering its wielder's armor isn't camouflaged- but it's too regular to be effective. I was also very inspired by your Vigilator, and had to build my own, which resembels your´s a bit in regards to the blade in one hand and rifle in the other combo, just in a more heretical way.
