The Incendius Crusade

Hi all. I've been trying to become a member here for a while and finally got made a member today after I emailed the site admins. I really wanted to share these models I'm making. Might be worth saying I don't play the game, I just take time making models. So hopefully you like them.

The story behind the Incendius Crusade is they have been fighting a long distance away from the rest of the chapter in isolation for over a long time, centuries possibly when you take the quirks of spacetime and the warp into account. In this time their zealotry has reached insane levels and they have turned their nutcase level up to 11. This crusade firmly believes the emperor is a god and worship him as such in fundamental fashion. I see them akin to Necromunda redemptionists, randomly flipping their lid and purging anyone they decide is a sinner.

This is my first model (as noted I wont be making an entire army, just some characters and vehicles worthy of display) Marshal Constantius. The idea behind his crown of thorns (which I will paint as barbed wire) is he wears it as a penance for calling himself a leader when only the emperor deserves such idolisation. It pierces his skin every time he moves in combat. While appearing to be in command he's actually an unwitting pawn to the Crusade's chaplain who manipulates him into doing his biding as he guides his faith. I have a bit of background written but for now I'll show some pics:

I'm quite happy with him so far. He needs a hand obviously and I think I will add a few more purity seals here and there. Let me know what you think.

Thanks man! There's always a shortcut: I cut a templar cross out of a thin bit of plasticard and stuck it on top of the mace head which had been filed flat. Then I used green stuff to give it three dimensions. So the shape was already there as a guide. Sculpting points/spikes is something I still need to learn to do properly.

First off brother, welcome to the Eternal Crusade!

Due to the nature of our efforts, it does not matter "when" you arrived, only that you "have" arrived. Your sculpting and modeling skills are far beyond my own, but I shall look forward to being inspired by them nonetheless.

Your Marshal is a brilliant model. I am also happy to see that you "biggerized" the legs on him. I did similar efforts for my terminators and I think it adds a greater presence to a terminator armored figure. The thunder hammer/mace is truly inspired.

I eagerly await your rendition of a Chaplain. Will he also wear terminator armor?

Long...long...gap. Sorry. I am actually getting time and in a habit of doing hobby stuff at the moment so hopefully this will be more frequent now. I have more stuff @xealito on instagram.

This is the design of the crozius I am making for the chaplain with some concept sketches. I was playing around with the idea of flames coming from the top of the skull but eventually dispensed with it because the model already has plenty of flames going on (a flamer and two flaming lantern things). I'm hoping it has enough of a unique black templar vibe without the top part of the cross. What do you think?

Also some of the models I'm working on. A Leuitenant or however that is spelt and the chaplain

Thanks very much. The big problem is my painting is not as good as my sculpting so I’m often offput and worry I’m going to spoil my work but I need to try and get over that. I’ve got a few models I’m currently painting which I will post soon

Another model ready to paint. I don’t know how to make the image smaller, sorry.

I think I will add a holster to the left hand side (his right) because it makes sense and it will add a bit of visual weight. The waist looks a bit thin and bare without it.
