I thought people were just wishlisting...but apparently BL has confirmed that the Khan and Fulgrim will go at it on Terra.

If so, this is fantastic news. I prefer this to Khan vs. Morty again.

Only concern is that Fulgrim will ne a super-powerful four-bladed Daemon snake.

Not sure how Khan could put up a good fight against that

I'd love to see a continuation of Khan vs Mortarion but I'd also love to see how this goes. Ever since he issued a challenge to Fulgrim in Scars, I guess Fulgrim has wanted to see for himself why the Kahn thinks he's better than him.

I'm curious how the BL is going to handle Daemon Primarchs in the upcoming HH novels considering they and Daemon Princes are a novelty to the Imperium.

Except Angron, for sure. ;)

Very curious, as well. Fulgrim and the Khan are among the top if not the top swordsmen. If Fulgrim is facing Jaghatai full demon mode (with four arms and blades), the Khan has to be even more superior to fend that off.

Hopefully this will be covered by Chris. IMHO, he's the master of the Vth.

Bah! The Khan doesnt need a sword, he just needs a firm grip around your throat, ask the Greater daemon Manusha-Rakshasi.

Looking forward to this epic battle though, I hope the White Scar counter attack from the gates of Terra is part of this.

This is most pronounced in Watcher's of the Throne in that parts of the novel were set round the Lion's gate?  Are they not more a celebration of the duel as opposed to an account?  I must admit Watcher's is now a happy blur in my memory given how much I've read since.

White Scars will mainly be engaging DG and Morty at the Lion's Gate Spaceport...

The EC are wreaking havoc in civilian living quarters, so I wonder how Khan and Fulgrim run into each other from a logistic perspective

In existing fluff, the Scars ran riot behind the traitor lines during the Siege.

Scars by Chris Wraight: Khan and Morty Round 1

Path of Heaven by Chris Wraight: Khan and Morty Round 2

Among the best stuff, the HH has to offer, if not THE best story arc, imho.

He surely is, mate.

From my pov, he jumped from among the lowest ranks to the top ones, only rivaled by Russ. But that's purely my take on it. I'm a bit biased, though. :P

It's not hard to set up a Fulgrim vs. Khan duel, and I'm sure they'll take advantage of any such opportunities. With so few loyalist primarchs present, they can each have more than one. I'm sure Dorn will fight Kurze early on, and maybe Perturabo after the final breach in the walls. Sanguinius's battles against Ka'Bandha and Horus are already well known, so expect a small duel at an earlier stage.

That the Emperor's Children got bored of the siege and went on a rampage against civilians goes at least all the way back to Slaves to Darkness (1988). But I haven't yet found the origin of the White Scars' history at the siege. Space Marine (1st ed. Epic) states that they were present as the "Whitescars", but keep in mind that Rogue Trader presented them as a pretty conventional chapter with no sign of being related to the Mongols (though they were said to be pretty mobile and had a lot of astropaths and navigators - a precursor to them being psyker-friendly). Their Index Astartes article (early 2000s) is disappointing, saying only that, "their banners indicate they helped defend Terra and fought at the gates of the Imperial Palace."

I think '90s era fluff had them harrying the Traitors' flanks and I'll keep looking for that. It's confirmed in a late Index Astartes article about the Siege of Terra - they start out that way, before the Khan decides it's not being very effective so he goes and retakes the Lion's Gate spaceport. Horus is keeping the Death Guard as his reserve, so they get the job of trying to dislodge them. That's how the Khan vs. Mortarion fight will come about.

My guess is that those early harrying actions will result in a brief Khan vs. Fulgrim duel and it'll play a role in the Emperor's Children leaving the area. Just speculating. They might not do it that way because it could cheapen the irony in Horus losing a large legion to the same temptations that brought it onto his side.
