Dawneagle jetbike design issue

Thinking about the new Custodes jet bikes I find myself asking, why does a jet bike with a gas turbine engine to provide propulsion need exhaust pipes on the side? The exhaust from a gas turbine goes straight out the back and is what pushes the engine and whatever it is attached to forwards.

The side exhaust pipes are superfluous and it irks me a bit. Anyone else?

Could be for cooling purposes (highly unlikely - pointing forwards would be better for that), or if there is a kind of secondary engine, used for different kinds of atmosphere (or lack of atmosphere)

More likely it's just that Games workshop took design cues from both turbines and traditional motorbikes

I like the two engine idea for hostile environments but it still looks odd to me.

Edit, just had a thought, it could be the exhaust path for the rocket launcher but seems a bit over engineered for that.
