The Beast passed its weapon from its right arm that Tyber had rendered useless to the two on its left side. It snarled at him, more beast than anything before giving a wild swing at his right arm. With a slight rolling of his body to the back and right Tyber forced the swing to go wide and slam into the wall of the container beside him. The beast wasted no motion or time, recovering from the hit that caved in the side wall, this back swing with the pick side of this mining tool. Taking a half steep back Tyber again avoid this hit.

The vox unit crackled with Akkad’s voice as Tyber twisted out of the way of the beats’ latest swing;

+Tell me Ahu, what does the Codex Astartes think of this situation?  Perhaps we should try throwing crates?+

Before he could respond, the beast had rolled his attack again, catching Tyber in the side with the blunt end of its weapon, knocking him into the container with what for a mortal would be bone crushing force., even still his vision blurred from the hit, the taste of blood filled his mouth.

Switching to the external vox speaker, he bellowed at the beast, +You are just another steeping stone on my path to greatness and immortality, now just lay down and DIE!+

Forcing himself off of the wall of the container with enough force into the beast to put it off balance for a moment he pushed past it to draw out his chainsword in his left hand before settling into Tyber a stance to end this beast, now was not the time to try and draw this fight out, there were no spectators, no one to cheer as he did his bloody work.

With the beast still off balance Tyber lashed out with his arming sword, the black blade bit deep into the right thigh of the beast, severing ligament and arteries. Tyber knew the beast was dead before it hit the ground.

OOC: Changing stance to from Chapter Stance to Codex Stance Feat of Strength, This will add one level of Unnatural Strength to bring Tyber up a SB of 10 +2 from PA to a SB of 15 +2 from PA for a total of +17 to damage.

Tyber looked at the beast its yellow eyes growing even dimmer as it look at him, life fluids pooling on the ground below it, placing his chainsword back on the small of his back, he then placed his right sabaton against the chest of the beast, kicking it onto its back. From there he planted both of his feet on its arms, raising his arming sword’s cross guard to level with his eyes he continued over the external vox, +You were yet another of your kind that has been found wanting.+

Driving the blade down into the beast’s chest he then twisted it a little left and right before pulling it back out. Tyber looked at the broken body, tilting his helm to the side and recalling how the death of theses beasts broke the cult at the church; he reached down with his left hand, forcing his hand into the mouth and began to drag the body towards the sound of the fighting.

Not three steps away from the death of the beast Tyber  stopped and looked up recalling the playful question from his brother by choice,  the armour as if reading his mind wasted no time with another blasted pop-up, frowning a little he answered his brother with some levity to his voice, +Apparently, according to the armour, ‘The Codex does not support such actions.’+

Teralil snarled as the Corporaptor hominii charged him, claws outstretched. Lacking the time to fire, he barely dodged the first attack, the claws a hair's breadth away from his chestplate. Releasing his bolter, he brought up his breaching augur, swinging it around in its harness and activating its whirring head as it hurtled towards the Genestealer.

"Obstiria!"

Akkad watched as his brothers new and old came into line to face the enemy.  The glow and heat pulsed from his sable and silver plate.  A flick of his helm and the emerald lenses took in the robust monolith that was Sabaan, a constant presence, as reliable as a good bolter.  No doubt the Savant would have told him exactly the degrees of temperature the air had warmed to in the conflagration of disdain before them.  Probably in several different ancient scales of measurement.

Greysight had departed, a zephyr across the Steppes, a whisper of death that struck, succeeded and moved on.  Even now the Storm Son swept on to the next target, the Huntsman out, plying his trade.

Atratus had lifted off and fired down unerringly, like the falcon clawing at the eyes of his foes, worthy of the stern avian on his shoulder and the appellation of Marksman.

Vorr had surprised him by standing at his elbow.  They had shared some time together, guardedly discussing the matter of weapons and Daon had found himself drawn to the Red Talon's creed of "kill it one-thousand times".  He had concurred of course, sharing his own Chapters' predilection for violent and concussive barrages of high-explosive. "The big guns never tire."  He had told the Iron Hand Successor.  His smile had no doubt matched the Talon, as the shrapnel and explosives tore the alien swine to pieces in a satisfying thunder of guns.  He clapped the Talon on the shoulder, a cuff from his vambrace, the gesture timeless, the ring of ceramite the voice of a deed well done, a task well met.

He chuckled harshly, the Badabian way, unpleasant and mirthless as the Glaive stood his ground, took the brunt of the attack from the Genestealer and, in contempt, shouted the name of his homeworld as reproach to the creature, then, gripping his Breaching tool, cored it like a rotten apple.

+Well struck Technomant!+ These men of Swordhand were good killers.  The bridge between them became small.  He thought of Tyber.

+My Kin, do you need assistance?+ He voxed privately, although he was careful to balance a mote of concern with a small smile of challenge.

He readied himself to move.  Plenty of Asurru dwellers left.

MR.

As the new batch of genestealers fell from the ceiling above into their midst, Solastion almost diverted from his current course to lend assistance but, like the Angels of Death they all were, his Squadmates all burst into action, reacting to the sudden 'Ambush' as only Space Marines can: by utterly annihilating the ambushers before they could even set out to do them much harm.

Without skipping a beat, Solastion continues with his initial course of action and flared his jump pack to slam into the Aberrant that the Librarian, Montesa, was currently engaged with.

Seeing Solastion dive beneath him into the first of the xenoforms Atratus adjusted the angle of his descent, an extra burst of power from his jump-pack sending him into the lesser cultists around Varvost. There was little elegance to the blow as the cultists were crushed and scattered beneath his weight or set aflame by the wash of his packs jets, the aberrant was the only true foe here.

Charge the aberrant and horde near Varvost

Attack: 81 - barely a hit thanks to the bonus from the horde size and charging. No bonus damage/hits.

Damage = 8 + 14 = 22, Pen 3

Wrathful descent = 9 extra magnitude to the horde

If/when attacked by the aberrant use parry/counter attack/assassin strike to duck away from the first blow and avoid follow-ups (also sets Atratus up for another charge if it all works - damn handy skill)

The Vox unit crackled to life again, from Akkad as Tyber continued to drag the body of the beast; +My Kin, do you need assistance?+

Tyber stopped and sighed before dropping the body to the ground. He took a moment to place his arming sword away in its scabbard, before hoisting the body back up in both hands.

Tyber released the body letting it fly, slamming into the side of the truck, causing it to sift a little to the north as the body pulped a little as it hit with, Giving a slight nod, he felt some pride with the toss.

Drawing out his arming sword again, he continued his movement forward, stalking towards battle. He was a Dragon, time to show this cult that and drive home that they stood before death itself, but first he should respond to his brother; +You should’ve just seen my answer brother.+

"Yeng. Right." The Iron Hand intoned; and – without waiting – knocked the genethief sprawling with a directed blurt of fire through the space occupied not a moment previously by the Gatebreaker. Oto Yeng's instinctive side-step took him forward, a predatory grin splitting his face. Adjusting his aim on the fly, he executed the scrambling alien with a snarl; mass-reactive rounds excavating two ragged scoops of xeno-meat from its bulbous head and painting the greasy paving with what presumably passed for its brains.

"Foedeath. Mourn-him-not," Yeng mumbled, half-heard. Then, after a brief look back and forth, he barked, "Six of us now unengaged. Who requires assistance?"

Mariana bit deep, the flame-bound blade shearing through corrupted flesh in an arc that seemed almost to scythe through the fabric of reality. He did not have that kind of power, lesser to other, far more potent weavers of the Warp. Though he could not tear it, he could pull at reality, draining from the ethereal veil and letting it flow with his malice and anger out into the psychic force of the blade. He had hoped to slay the beast in one, that most momentary surprise when he had not leading to the great crash against his warplate. With a crunch of pulverized Ceramite, the Codicier was sent reeling to the side, only catching his step just barely to keep himself from riding out the blow too far. Part of his pauldron had been crushed, the deep cerulean and scarlet of his Chapter's heraldry cracked beneath the vicious blow. With the most momentary glance, he saw and estimated the damage. It was minuscule at best, the pain a dull throb that would not diminish his combat effectiveness. But... to see the mark of his brothers marred, it boiled in his throat with the acrid tang of anger. With a roar the codicer lashed to finish what he started.

He heard the slight umbrage in the younger Marine's voice.  He was right, Daon shouldn't try to Brother him too much.  Akkad smiled thinly under his helmet.

+My apologies Ahu, of course.  The Beast must have thought you the runt of the litter.+  He infected the words with a chuckle, but in truth he was pleased.  Tyber seemed to be in fine spirits and good martial form.  His secret concerns for his Brother-in-all-but-blood evaporated in the exchange.  His bantering grew more serious.  +There is an even bigger bastard over here worthy of your strength.+

With that he charged after Vorr, keeping pace with the Red Talon, who raced forwards to claim more heads.  Humbug me will you?  He heard Lord Astor of the Noble House clearly in his mind - a comment uttered during a fell chase with the Su'san Su-Sepi, who bred and reared horses for the palaces of Badab.

In his turn, Akkad will:

Full action: Run/Leap 42m towards/beside Vorr, vaulting over/onto the green Cargo container.

He will not stop, using his impetus to carry him forwards and leap over Montesa and Ghent, landing on the back of the flatbed truck, where he will engage his magboots so he doesn't go bum over head.

AG Test for Leap: 45 +10 (Solo) + 10 x 4m prior to jump (Max +30) = 85

D100: 003. Pass, plus 8 DoS.

Vertical height achieved: 1/2m (Basic) + 5m (1/2 SB) + 4m (1/2m per DoS) = 10.5 Metres.

When he lands, Free Action: Draw Flamer.
Will sport with Vorr about stopping short.

For a moment, Akkad wondered if he had miscalculated, but there was no time to worry about the hoarfrost breaking all over every surface within several metres radius of the Librarian.  He considered the glistening crystals as he reached the moment of his leap, hurling forward and up, fingertips of the left gauntlet - the claws, machined into them, gripping, hauling, rasping in keening metal shrieks as the extra impetus gave him lift.

Vorr was readying himself and the Soundstrike he carried.  Akkad sailed above and past him, Badabian runes angled sharply as the Kerberos IFF signals blinked in his retina, positions and elevations of his brothers updated.  As his momentum carried him aloft, his mind roamed back to brief service in the Assault Squads. He had not enjoyed it.  He much preferred his boots on the ground, the feeling of dirt or deck under his feet, but this was liberating.  With the thought came a small concern and a smile.  His feet.  The ride on Chimera 212 had ended in being catapulted at his enemies ignominiously.

That wouldn't do in front of the Invader.

He grimaced, judging, wondering if the ice would be a concern, but as he passed above Montesa and Solastion, the Librarian's eyes flared in actinic haze.

A thin rime of ice shouldn't bother an Astartes, surely?  A smile played about the eyes, a small crinkle of amusement.  Akkad didn't think he'd heard anything, nor had he felt the force of any intrusion, but still...the gaze had contained the suggestion.

He hammered a mental impulse as his boots came down to meet the top of the carrier-vehicle and the magnetic soles of his boots clamped him down with astonishing weight.  He stifled a triumphant laugh and gripping Cadence one-handed drew Sergeant Vaidan's flamer.  The sigil of the Novamarines was embellished upon it.  He felt it right that the weapon should reap more souls in his name.  So be it.  Akkad filled his lungs and levelled the Sa'situ at the horde of cultists, a shower of icy flakes erupting into the air, making it appear as if Akkad had sprouted from the thick, chilly mist Montesa had created, the flickering warp lightning ebbing away even as he stood.

//External Vox//

+The Emperor has judged!  In the name of Khyber Vaidan of the Novamarines, I end you!+

He couldn’t help but smirk under his helm at the tone used by his Brother by choice, again the armour pinched him, this time on his hip, causing him to grimace and wrinkle his nose before flaring out air through it. +I doubt that Ahu, these abominations are of little interest, I have killed two of them now… I need a better challenge. + he responded back, trying to put a tone of dry wit to his words.

OOC: Action for Round 4

Tyber will perform a “run” action, using his jump pack to move 60m. Ending location will be 5 squares in by 12 squares up from the bottom corner of our deployment zone. (Second mostly green square, closest to the truck behind Ghent, directly in line with Atratus)

Run action gives shooters a -20 to hit against Tyber, but melee gains a +20 to hit.

Flaring his jump pack, Tyber launched himself into the air. As he descended down from the hop, he noticed the layer of unnatural frost on the container; it crunched and gave way as his mass forced the top of the container to buckle under the force of impact.

As his brother by choice bellowed out his call, Tyber couldn’t help but provide an almost dark tone of amusement to Akkad over their shared vox link, as he drew out his chainsword into his left hand, readying himself to launch again at the foe that was attempting to end the Invader.

The genestealer moved swiftly through it's fallen cult, using their bodies for concealment. But it's efforts were futile against so many as a bolt shell caused it to stagger wounded onto Atratus' waiting blade.

Pausing for a moment he assessed the area for more ambushes or traps, and the likely path of retreat for those that might seek to escape and hide again amongst the civilians.

Counter and attack genestealer 3

Parry = 79 vs 83 (WS 63 + balanced + hunter of xenos) = pass

Counter attack = 42 vs 53 (WS 63 - 20 counter + 10 hunter) = pass

Damage = 6+16 = 22 pen 3

Attack: 75 = pass

 -damage = 3+16 = 19, pen 3

Swift Attack: 74 = pass

 -damage = 8+16 = 24, pen 3

Assassin Strike: 69 = failed

Summary - Atratus parries the previous hit and strikes the genestealer three times for 22, 19, and 24 damage (pen 3)
