This is our year.....

Not sure how busy I am the next few days, but in case I don't have time to post, wishing my fellow Space Wolves a very Happy Chinese New Year. According to the chinese zodiac, this year is the year of the dog, which coincidentally is the year our beloved primarch Leman Russ will likely be released together with our codex. Where I am, the celebrration date falls this Friday 16/2/2018.

So by the grace of God, I wish the best for all of you, may your games be fun and the hobby remain fulfilling to you. May this year be the best year for us Vlka Fenryka players with new codex, new primarch, new relics, new strategems, and .... dare I say it..... new units as well that ALL if not MOST of us can love and play, unlike the controversial TWC and Wulfen when they came out which until today, most of us have a hate/love relationship. (me, I'm anti-TWC, while not especially disliking the Wulfen although I would have preferred they still wear their power armour like back in the day of that global black crusade campaign.

Oh, apart from the hobby, I also wish happiness, prosperity and blessings in the other aspects of your lives. Not just in monetary terms but also for your respective personal growths and resolutions. For fellow Christians and other monotheistic adherents, also pray that your walk with God continues to grow better.

I dunno how a leopard growl is suppose to sound like, which is apparently what Space Wolves sound like when they are growling, as opposed to a canine growl (citation: Prospero Burns), but let's assume I'm releasing a mighty growl as I scream...

GONG XI FA CAI!!!

PS: Incidentally, if you are born in 1982, 1994 or 2006, or any 12 year interval before 1982, then this is your zodiac year as well.

PPS: I'm sure you can google yourselves, but other animals include snake, dragon, ox/bull/bovine, goat, monkey etc.

Year of dragon, what chapter am I?

Closest would be Salamander. Not a bad choice. Not that I subscribe to all the zodiac hocus pocus predictions, they're bout as real as an unaltered and still loyal Emperor's Children. And bear in mind, in Chinese or generally Asian context, dragons are more benevolent or at least a neutral force of nature, rather than associated with the devil or demons in western culture.

Actually due to serpentine nature of Chinese dragons, you could be an Emperor's Children as well since for some reason, Fulgrim is depicted as serpentine. Which is kinda an insult to the generally noble nature of chinese dragons. The four big rivers in China were supposedly dragons before sacrificing themselves to provide the cradles of chinese civilization.

Year of the rat for me (wood rat to be precise)

Hairy like a wolf...but smaller and arguably much more cunning

An ancient folk story tells that Cat and Rat were both very bad at swimming. Although they were poor swimmers, they were both quite intelligent. To get to the meeting called by the Jade Emperor, they had to cross a river to reach the meeting place. The Jade Emperor had also decreed that the years on the calendar would be named for each animal in the order they arrived to the meeting. Cat and Rat decided that the best and fastest way to cross the river was to hop on the back of OxOx, being kind-hearted and naive, agreed to carry them both across. Midway across the river, Rat pushed Cat into the water. Approaching the other side, the Rat jumped off the Ox and rushed to the Jade Emperor. It was named as the first animal of the zodiac calendar.

aww yeah.

Year of the monkey for me. Given there are no Space Marine Chapters with Monkeys as their spirit animal I think the Vlka Fenryka is a solid choice.

I mean when Space Wolves turn into Wulfen they go ape-s*!t, right?

Sounds good to me.... Will have to watch out in case you are tricksy like Lukas :D
