Thank you InKaras !

well not much new to see here but I decided to take some pictures of all my Dark Angels that I painted in 2020. Did some initial work on bladeguard ancient and assembled contemptor dreadnought but won't be able to finish them in the coming weeks. It has been a good year nonetheless !

Hello Brothers (and Sisters),

it's been a long time since my last visit. I've been busy working on some AoS related projects that I had to put my beloved Dark Angels on hold.

I was however able to assemble and paint the whole 30k marine squad in the evenings during the last month - oh boy they took forever to finish!

I wanted to create unique squad with each marine having it's own heraldry and that along with painting black armour took more time then I initially expected. I am happy how they turned out. Now i need to put them in a rhino and paint that Contemptor that is still laying somewhere around on my shelf...

As always no transfers all freehand. Enlarge pictures for better view

Thank you so much Brothers !

as for shoulder trims they were painted using: leadbelcher as basecoat, washed with nuln oil in next step. All was then highlighted with ironbrekaer and stormhost silver. After that i washed reccesses with agrax earthshade and finally highlighted edges with ulthuan grey.

I did some close-ups on my Lion some time ago but haven't posted them before. Below is one of them.

Contemptor Dread will join his force soon as well as special Legion Praetor ;)

Sure Orkinstein np :)

For painting black i use Andrea black paint set which consists of 6 different shades of grey that I additionally mix to achieve smooth transitions between layers (I will use names of andrea paints below):

1. Start with Abaddon Black basecoat

2. First layer of Base + 1st shadow

2. 1st and 2nd shadow mix

3. 2nd and 3rd shadow mix into reccesses

4. Base + 1st highlight

5. 1st and 2nd highlight mix

6. Shade all with nuln oil

7. 1st highlight

8. 2nd highlight

9. 2nd highlight + ushabti bone final highlight on the edges

you can additionally provide some glazes with steel legion drab and xereeus purple to add some definition to the colour

Hope it helps,
