Dang man your stuff is amazing!

Really dig your green armour - highlights pop nicely, but combo'd with the scratches keep it looking realistic and suitably grim.

Keep it up please!

Thank you once again Brothers !
MaxB i am not fully happy how the bearer’s armour turned out. It is a little bit too bright as if i added to much lighter tone when i was working on the midtones. It is acceptable but still not fully what i wanted to achieve (i prefer a little bit darker tones as on my intercessors). I won’t be repainting him as i still think he should fit quite nicely with the rest army that i plan to paint :smile.:

Thank you guys !

My green recipe is quite long and time consuming:

BASE:

I use a mix of caliban green / moot green as a base colour in ratio (2:1). I apply it in two coats to strenghten the colour.

SHADOWS:

1st shadow - mix of base colour with a drop of abaddon black

2nd shadow - previous mix with more abaddion black added

HIGHLIGHTS

1st highlight - mix of base colour with more moot green

2nd highlight - even more moot green added to the previous mix

3rd highlight - pure moot green on the edges

GLAZING GLAZING GLAZING :smile.:

1st glaze - caliban + abaddon + lahmian (or other glaze medium) into reccesses

2nd glaze - caliban + lahmian

3rd glaze - caliban + moot (ratio 1:1) + lahmian

4th glaze - caliban + moot (ratio 2:1) + lahmian

5th glaze - moot + lahmian (applied on the most highlighted areas)

FINAL HIGHLIGHTS

1st highlight of moot + white (1:6)

2nd highlight of pure white (only on the very edges)

SCRATCHES

1st step: paint very thin lines of pure abaddon black in different elements of the armour

2nd step: underline the scratches with a mix of moot green and white (ration 1:6)

You can however skip some of the above if you wish to hasten the proces. You can probably achieve good effect if you use only one shadow and highlight step followed by simple glazes of 1st and 3rd steps respectively into shadows and highlights.

Hope that helps !

Hi Brothers,

I gave myself 2 months to finish the whole 10 men intercessors squad. I was totally wrong in that as it took me roughly 4 and a half months to do the job :smile.:

They are finally finished and I am really pleased with the result. Hope you like them too.

First the next five primaris from the squad:

The whole squad:

and all my Primaris together:

We all have already seen the new primaris Marneus Calgar so it is a matter of time when we get new primaris Azrael (can't really wait for that !).

Until then my next 'painting target' are Hellbalsters and Deathwing Knights (can't decide what to do first).

Thank you all of you guys !!!! I am glad that you like them and I am honoured by your kind words!

@nusphigor: as for the normal marines I did paint whole army (greenwing with addition of elements of ravenwing and deathwing - some of you here remember it, right Master Stobz ?) back in 2014:

I did post all of my army progress here on B&C 4 years ago but I got archived. I prefered simplier painting scheme on my miniatures back then with almost no glazing, shadows and highlights.

Now I want to stick strictly with the Primaris (for greenwing). I do not plan to paint more normal marines. I will however add some Death and Raven Wings :smile.:

Very beautiful army man. I hadn't seen those minis as i'm new to Dark Angels but they are stunning!
