''I shall not be by him imprinted, nor by his sin disfigured.''

Hello all,

I've decided to start a small Blackshields project, the Nemean's outlanders.

So I've put together a non-production mk V using only my bits box.

The Blackshields transfer sheet is very nice as well.

Looking lovely. Rich, glossy black; characterful face, and some great details. Is the bare hand a nod to the famous ‘Scarface’ marine artwork?

Thanks! Yeah, I always wanted to make a version of him. I'm surprised you recognized him so fast!

The idea came from the description of the Pariah armor in book 6.

Lacking imperial supplies led some Blackshields to modify their armor in a variety of ways, like removing pauldrons or gauntlets.

That is absolutely wonderful. Just... stunning.

I'm glad you like him!

My only issue with this project is that, so far, there aren't more models on display.

Haha, I am working on it. Got some boomsticks too. :biggrin.:

I decided to change the base since it was too dark and merged with the armor.

The new scheme is based on the picture above. The lifeless killing fields of a distant planet, proper grim dark.

Another marauder is finished.

Thanks for the comments!

Wonderful. Love the missing gauntlet.

Any chance of some beakies based on the rogue trader front cover? Always liked the missing armour plates / bandages that those marines wore.

Yeah, I love that artwork too! I'll check my bits box and see what I can do.

Looks very cool, the Blackshields transfer sheet is amazing. Surprised to not see it used more.

Me too. The detail of the transfers is something else.

C&C welcome.

Covered with heavy robes, this warrior went to great lengths to conceal his origins.

I'm sharing this box of random models I got from ebay as a hint of my next project that will soon join the Dark Brotherhood. It is the discontinued Forsaken bits that I am after, one of the best kits GW has ever produced IMHO. Also wait for a before and after comparison. :biggrin.:

These are incredible so far.

What's your recipe for the black armor? I need it.

Thanks! It's black mixed with mechanicus, dawnstone  and administratum grey on a wet palette.

Fantastic Blackshield #2.

Ever considered giving them names and some background?

Thanks, I always have some background story in my mind when I build my models but I am not good at writing stuff and my english is not perfect so I prefer to leave the viewer get the idea just by looking at it. I'll try to give a little more flavor in the future tho.

I'll share my thoughts about the first three models, the blonde guy was a warrior of the First legion, the second is a Cthonian and the third is shrouded in secrecy, unknown former legion.

C&C welcome.

Edit: Fixed broken link.
