Looking for a Good Program to Make a Chapter Insignia

Hi guys,

 

I'm in the process of making my custom space marine chapter and am looking for a good, easy to use, program that I can use to make an insignia for my chapter. If anyone knows of one that I can use, whether it be an app, browser based, or a desktop program, please let me know.

Paint.net is decent, and free.

GIMP is possibly the best free program, as it can use a lot of PS filters.

 

I might be able to help depending on complexity.

I recommend Krita. it's a bit more user friendly than GIMP. It is also free...so try both!

If you are looking for something free, I'm going to second GIMP.

 

If you can afford it, or have an access to it, Adobe Illustrator is excellent for making insignia, with added bonus of using vector graphics, which is incredibly useful when it comes to actually printing it. There is also a lot of free vector art that is easy to adjust to fit your insignia.

If you're just going to be bashing shapes and text together (which is likely for an insignia) GIMP etc may be unnecessary. There are online sources for creating something, for example Vectr.

Inkscape is free and also does vector images (great for when you want to make decals or stickers) and works well alongside GIMP.

Sounds silly but powerpoint is actually great as well. I make my decal sheets with it an it is perfect
