2.5k Imperial Fists - Stone Gauntlet

Hey guys, looking at tinkering with Imperial Fists in the near future, this is not a super competitive list but does hit the standard checklist of 30k for the most part, Spartan, Terminator Blob, heck even added a Raptor.

Idea is to foot slog the breachers up each with its own apothecary and try to camp objectives, use the raptor to do its thing and have the leviathan drop out and hunt armor, Alexis goes with the terminators in the Spartan to fight similar Terminator blobs. Sicaran sits back with the Quads shooting at armor and troop alike, Thunderhammers on everything are really Solarite Gauntlents.

Not much to the list seems easy to play and straight forward, thoughts?

Hitting that 30k checklist isn't always a good thing.

Definitely go for 2x 15 Breachers and 2 Apothecaries instead. Much more point efficient. Also why does everyone have thunder hammers? I see no real point getting one for everyone instead of power fists, which cost less.

Also one can argue about the worth of ceramite on that Sicaran but I personally wouldn't take it.

Two x15 Breachers is a better idea - I agree with what SL just said.

Personally I feel like your list would benefit more from x5 Terminators in a Phobos and using the excess points to include a Heavy Weapons Squad for more long range anti-tank. HWS get really good rules for Imperial Fists and make a good combo with your T5 Shield Infantry to provide some reach to your rock units.

Thunderhammers on everything are really Solarite Gauntlents.

You might want to go back and check the Legiones Astartes book. Solarite Gauntlets are an upgrade for Independent Characters. You can't just throw a Gauntlet on anything that could otherwise take a Thunder Hammer (though that would be awesome).

Huscarl is correct - power gauntlets are only for independent characters, which is a shame but understandable!

The spartan could go as a dedicated transport and free up a HS slot.

I’d recommend running 4-5 chainfists in the terminators, perhaps 1 hammer then the rest powerfists it axes to save points.

I’d keep the spartan - a normal LR on its own with be destroyed T1 and 5 terminators won’t last too long.

Also keep the 3 x Breacher squads - you need them to unlock the elite choices.

I’d perhaps drop a few terminators, AC on the Sicaran and perhaps a quad mortar to squeeze in some dedicated AT in the third HS slot.
