Both. I was at a tournament recently and horde armies did very well. At 2k you can fit in a fairly hefty brigade for lots of command points for Denizens of the Warp shenanigans.

yes, they are viable. I wouldn't expect to win many tournaments with them, but they are certainly viable. If you feel like they're good enough, go for it.

I've made good use of the flesh hounds since the Daemonkin codex of 7th.  The hounds do practically the same thing for me in 8th that they did in 7th.  I line them right across my deployment line and they all go straight forward.  The opponent has to deal with the hounds while piles of Khorne are rushing up behind.  I would say played right Khorne Daemons should be very viable.

I have this in mind for a list;

Skulltaker, Prince with Skullreaver, Skullmaster, 20 'letters + icon, 20 'letters + icon, 20 'letters, 25 'letters, 10 'letters, 10 'letters, 3 'crushers + icon, 3 'crushers, 3 'crushers, 5 furies, 5 furies, 5 furies, 3 skullcannons.

2 units of 'letters with blood banners, the crushers with blood banner and all the characters burn virtually all the CPs and use denizens of the warp to wreck the enemy front line/screen. Everything else follows up.
