Warhammer Live just dropped this a few minutes ago:

A new Knight Castellan

Looks like it might only be a little taller than a normal Knight, and bulkier, sporting two twin meltaguns, two twin light battle/autocannon things, two single-use missiles, a huge plasma cannon, and some kind of mini-volcano cannon looking thing. All told I'm quite excited and hyped for this thing and especially if I can use my Iron Wolf heads from Shapeways on this guy I'll be doubly happy!

Looks pretty good, I hope there's some nice Mechanicus skull faceplates for it.

Well I expect it won't be out for a few months, Necrons aren't out for a few more days, Dark Eldar are the next few weeks, and Harlequins and Deathwatch were both announced and I get the feeling those will come before the Imperial Knights, plus somewhere in there the Idoneth Deepkin. We may be looking at a July or August release, maybe later, so I think we have a few months.

Were my backlog only a few months deep, and me not so busy, that might be acceptable. ;)

But yes, I'm just being hyperbolic either which way, it's all good. It'll be there when I get to it. :)

As I said in N&R, I bet the points cost is going to make yer' head spin.

This is beautiful... My admech army may transition to more of an Imperial Knight army at this rate.

Very nice, reminds me of a down-scaled warlord titan. And it has plasma. Both make it a must have.

Regarding the faceplate...my best guess, they reused many knight parts (at least in CAD, maybe in size), the size should stay the same (in the vid, next to the armigers, it looks like it). My guess would be its face will be done identical, and faceplates interchangeable.

It's so delightfully over the top. I must have it! Although if the Armigers (and to a slightly lesser extent the other knights as well) points aren't lowered in the codex, what would this thing even cost, 800?

Seems a fair guess, I reckon!

I love my Knights but I'm undecided if this is a bit too "Warlord" despite clearly having enough guns.  lol

I like it!

Good thing I saved some hobby money for the future knight release! :D

Speaking of "enough guns" those look like...

Two hunter-killer missiles (but probably aren't exactly)

Four Taurox-style smaller battlecannons

Four meltaguns (yeah, I'm not going near THAT with another walker...)

What is probably a plasma chieorovile (might be too small to be a cannonade but is much larger than a culverin, going by Ad Mech nomenclature)

And what might be a magna lascannon similar to/smaller than what the Porphyrion uses (or solar pattern las like the Thanatar)

I can't see anything smaller for point defence so that might be it...

I'm going to need more shelves to make room for this beastie.

Thinking about it, it's amazing that Imperial Knights have gone from a barely remembered relic of Epic 40k into a hugely popular faction in it's own right. I doesn't feel like a long time since the first kit came out to me. I look forward to this new chassis even though it has so many guns. In my opinion it doesn't look like they just coated it in glue and rolled it though a bits box full of guns like the Stormtalon.

so 2k force with hopefully a points drop could be this new guy, a few normal knights (maybe another double gunner) and 3 scout knights meaning 9 cps. worth a shot!

House Sartoris hopes this is coming out immediately, although my wallet hopes end of summer or thereabouts. Need to get a few Forgebanes first and then round out my Necrons...

Only problem now, is I'm gonna sink back into obscurity, I don't really know of anything post knights coming up.

And thus my five minutes of fame was offer... *sob*

Still can't get over how cool it looks though, I bought and built a custodes army to take to throne of skulls in a few weeks.

Now I may just take my knights, ok I don't have full codex rules yet, but throwing 2 knights and 4 Armigers round the table would be a laugh at least.

Well I for one am happy because if you hadn't leaked those rumours I'm pretty sure I'd be building an Errant right now with hatred in my eyes as I look upon the Castellan haha. Did you have any idea as to release window?

I'm only joking with the malaise btw, don't anyone take it that serious.

Honest I don't know, within three months, I'd say April/May would be common sense, it won't be too long.

Long enough for me to maybe paint 5 of my 7 existing knights - two are done - and the 4 Armigers turning up today/tomorrow.

Ah who am I kidding... I've got a baby at home...

I will clear my desk tonight and start on the next two knights. I already have a third completely magnetized and one Castigator and Acheron on the shelf.

4 Armigers are on the way - I guess I should start buying some magnets :-D

I have a fully magnetised crusader. Still have a fledging Admech army and now I’m resigned to having to branch out in both knight/Admech directions.

Hey Hermanista , don't be down I too would be building a knight warden,  if it wasn't for you, I may have even bought more than one Forgebane box
rather than waiting for the other news about the variants, finding myself in an unenviable position of having only 1 loadout.

Right now I'm going to get my two Armiger up and running to a nice standard and wait for this bad boy to be my centrepiece, I wonder how many more points this is going to be
right now its got to be more expensive than a fully kitted Warden , So 600 ??
