So what are you taking for allied battalions? Deep striking scions seems pretty good for taking out priority targets, but pure guardsmen is cheap as chips. Another consideration would be skitarii, 5man units of dudes with arquebus for sniping characters at long range is pretty cheap for some fairly durable (4+6++) infantry. 3x5 scouts for deep strike deny are also an option. Here’s what Geoff Robinson brought to Adepticon: Company Commander (Grand Strategist) Company Commander (Kurlov’s Aquila) 3x Infantry Squad (Mortar) 3x Heavy Weapon Team (Mortar) He also has an Imperial Vanguard Detachment: Primaris Psyker Culexus Assassin Eversor Assassin Callidus Assassin Lots of CP and can farm a lot more during games. Prime (Command Rod, Grand Strategist) Prime (Command Rod, Kurov's Aquila) 3x5 Scions (2x plasma gun, 1x plasma pistol) (324 points) or Blood Angels Captain (TH, SS, JP, Angel's Wings(relic)) Priest 3x5 Scouts (363 points) Or both for maximum 'fun'. For me it looks like you must have at least 7 guys in the unit to get two plasma-guns: 5 models to unlock them and two other to take special weapons. shanewatts Posted April 2, 2018 Share Posted April 2, 2018 I am a fan right now of running Death Korp of Krieg alongside my Custodes. They hold objectives well in the face of fire (no morale from causalities in the shooting phase.) They are equivalent in cost to regular AM (infantry squads are more, but officers are less) and due to morale are slightly more survivable. I have been running them along with a few basilisks for LOS ignoring fire with some punch. I had debated using Cadians or Catachans, but kept coming back to the fact you have to kill every model to get rid of them. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also just realized not sure how this is a problem, AM infantry easily make up for BS4 with quantity of shots vs other imperials with BS3. What are you comparing them to?
