Today i faced a Bio Titan. And later 5 Flyrants

An awesome bank holiday day of gaming. A rare outing by our Eldar player as new fatherhood starts to settle. Out Tau player couldn't make it, having scored free tickets to the Liverpool match.

Eldar dominated the day. A thrown together list that highlighted all the issues with the faction. Max sized Ynarri Reaper squad deleted multiple units per turn. And farseer support allowed them to delete a deep striking unit as well. Trying to get to them was impossible due to Ranger screens that you had to hit with a -3 or even 6+. And two Fire Prisms linking fire.

Even The Eldar player was embarrised.

I had a narrative match arranged. Our Nid player had scratch built a Bio Titan and we wanted to give it an outing. It plus transport facing Custards and GK protecting Terra.

It removed my two GMNDK in CC instantly. But lack of psychic defence, 9 paladin with hammerhand and Custard CC prowesss saw it bought low.

As the evening drew to a close, I pursuaded our Nid guy to put on the table all the flyrants he had. Hoping they would give the eldar a run for their money. The guys wanted to see my Custards up.

He put down 5 Flyrants, 6 zoans, a neuro 2 x3 hive guard and 2 exos. Don't think he used all his points either.

Yeah.

Those things are nuts. And after facing an army with 5 cast 2 psykers, a smite +3 super smite and a neuro, i will laugh in the face of anyone who claims baby smite is a problem.

I conceeded start of my turn 2. With barely anything left. Killing Only 1 flyrant and a single zoanthrope. And losing 14 to 4 VPs.

Well i wanted to see it in action! I Just didn't want to face it! :D

Edit. Our Chaos player didn't want to face me, and the bio titan might have gone differently but the nid player messed up and only thought it had one gun not two! Would have made overwatch nastier!

Agreed, not even with my T'au I think the mini smite is a problem. It's annoying that I can't do anything to try and stop it but if anything I'd rather feel bad about my GK opponent having to rely on it.

Anyway, sounds like a great day. Kinda glad that there's no Eldar player in my group and the Nids player isn't the most competetive player either. :D

You hear reports of how well these top table lists do. And i wanted to see it in action.

And damn if it wasnt even optimised.

This morning discussion has been that the 5 flyrant supreme command detachment should have been leviathan for 6+ FnP and the rest Kronos for reroll 1s on unmoving exos/ out of los hive guard.

Smacking around the bio titan was hella fun though!

Edit. Just to highlight the ad hoc nature of the list he didn't even choose psychic powers.

Had 6 psykers, went through 1 to 6 giving them the first to last power in order.

Didn't bother giving the zoans an extra power.

Edit. Don't get me wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed the loss. If That makes sense. It was a spectacle, nothing more.

Our Chaos guy on the other hand did not enjoy being on the end of the eldar beatdown a single bit.

Yes, that sounds like a great game. Removing your own units from the board is the best part of the game. Always look forward to games where I concede turn 2.

Hey man, you shouldn't judge. That's just what I like.

Good skills wonder if this topic will get locked as well

How many rounds did it take to kill the bio-titan??

Either brought low means it didn't die, or it died first turn, because he conceded turn 2. He wouldn't have had a chance to kill it if he didn't do it in the first turn.

Two different games.

IIRC The bio titan was killed turn 4.

Put up a strong fight. But i still had 15 strikes and some sundry left.

Would have been different if it had been shooting the full amount it should have!

My mistake. Was it by itself?

Only what it could transport. Was Just some hive guard.

Not The most optimal choice, this was just a run out for his scratch built.

The Bio titan is more of an anti titan titan. Will murder big models. But suffers facing hordes.

It will be great in actual large games with other supporting units.

We just wanted a Cloverfield. ;)

I've found that to be the case with almost all "large" models. Melee wise, NDK/Dreadnoughts/Armigers etc. It's disappointing, I'd have liked to have seen a GMNDK wading through demon hoards with his greatsword, but they just get bogged down (hence he greatsword change mentioned in the other thread).
