Painting Challenge Summary Post

Recommended Posts

Should such a listing be limited to painting/modeling challenges? Or would it be worthwhile to list all ongoing/upcoming challenges?

While painting/modeling challenges are by far the most common, not all of the challenges conducted here at the B&C are painting/modeling. Some might be focused around lore development, or gaming, or might combine multiple elements into them.

Also, currently we have the Calendar linked at the top of the forum. Do you think it would be possible to adjust our current listings therein to satisfy the function of providing our members with a comprehensive listing of events?

And there is also the Events forum within the Community category. Would that serve as an alternate location for the listing?

Or might both the Calendar and the Events forum be used in conjunction with each other? Note that this is for a consolidated listing of all challenges. It would be very easy for each category/forum/sub-forum to have their own listing of their events, serving as satellites to a consolidated listing.

Thanks Brother Tyler.

Should include other challenges just picked up on most common. The consolidated approach could work however they could get 'lost' in the events forum and calendar especially if there's a few running at the same time.

A dedicated area would enable completed challenges to be archived and also direct users to a challenge in a forum they wouldn't normally go to. Although this could be a pinned post or sub forum within events with start and end dates only included in calendar.

When a new event is announced:

  • A thread is often created in the NR&A with an overview of what's happening and links to the relevant sub-forum/event thread(s)
  • The banners are the top of the page rotate to show any live events. Clicking on them takes you to the event thread (or a staging post like the Calendar)
  • The Calendar is updated to reflect what events upcoming/ongoing. On desktop/full mode, live events are show on the right hand side of the screen

Completed/archived events are often found within the sub-forum's resources. Examples include the Blood Angels, Imperial Guard, and The Forge.

Obviously there's always room for improvement, but I'm posting them to let you know what we already do.
