Live FB Stream is up here

Stream notes:

  • +1 to warp charge requirement for consecutive Smites (not -1 roll). Grey Knights and Thousands Sons except from this rule. Matched Play only.
  • You can only target a Character model if it is the closest model. Characters don't block you from shooting other characters. Matched Play only.
  • Command points increased for Battalions (3 > 5) and Brigades (9 > 12).
  • Ignoring wound saves changed to just a single FNP save. No more stacking. Intention was to speed up the game.
  • Some point changes: Robot Girlyman increased. Dark Reapers increased. Flying Hive Tyrant increased.
  • Guide line suggestions for events updated: Rule of Three - use the same data sheet 3 times - troops and transports exempt.
  • BETA RULES:
    • Soup adjustments: If you have a battle forged army, you can no longer use Chaos/Imperium/Tyranid or Aeldari keywords in the same detachment. Exceptions for various units, SoS/Legionaries(?might have been Inquisitors?)/Assassins. Can take these units without needing a HQ choice in a Vanguard detachment.
    • Alpha strike adjustments: Fully half your army needs to be deployed on the battlefield, points/power level wise. If you deepstrike on the first turn, it can only land in your deployment zone. Exceptions include Genestealer cults.
  • FAQ for recent codexes included.
  • Forgeworld units adjusted.

If that PDF is all there is - HAHAHAHAHAHA, zero changes to how GK play, other than a massive beta rule nerf. Who's going to be the first one to tell me to "wait for the next FAQ/Chapter Approved"?

GW are officially inept.

The Deepstrike reserve beta rule is far worse of a nerf to GKs than the smite beta rule (which thankfully won't impact us).  The army is pointless without being able to deep strike turn one outside of our deployment zone since we are paying points for that ability.  If we don't get an exemption alongside Genestealer cults you won't be seeing any GK armies at any ITC events (since they have been simply applying the beta rules immediately).

Screening and pre-game scout moves are already an amazing counter to our first turn deepstrike and now this rule would allow those units to further stretch across the board to prevent any turn 2 deep strike outside of our own deployment zone anyway.  Wow, did not expect to see that rule.

Actually it's not really a nberf to us.  It just pushes us form Strikes to Interceptors.

Just disembark and move for a 15" 'DS' then unload first turn with Rapid Fire Storm Bolters.

It's still a cussy rule.

But we will only be able to take 3 units of Interceptors now with the Rule of 3.  Moreover, you'll only be able to Gate of Infinity one of a GMDK, Voldus, or Draigo up to support those interceptors instead of being able to DS with them turn 1.  And with the change to battalions granting 5 CPs instead of 3, we really still need to take Strikes for the command points.

I agree, but the rule of three is just a suggested rule for tournaments, much like the detachment limits.
