Hey everyone!

Just curious what your take on this is. Would you rather have less shots and SIA or more shots without SIA.

Thanks in advance!

SIA cause wound on 2+ for non vehicles

we are already paying for 3 points more for that, if you confront it to the sternguard.....spending another 2 to get a stormbolter is not an option for me.

I hope the incoming codex will get us some valid points reduction btw

I agree. It's not worth paying extra 2pts even though mathematically SB is better than Boltgun+SIA when shooting T4Sv4-5 models. So if you know for sure that your SB equipped squad will shoot horde and horde only then SB is very cost effective way to increase amount of shots but otherwise... unsure.png

Now, how do you get SB with SIA? Not in any way, but you can test SB+SIA effect using Bikers. Bikers are good, not awesome but really good. Really hope they cut the points of Bikers.

SIA always, for me.  There's so much flexibility in there that losing a shot or two is a worthwhile trade.

Commorites working with Craftworlders is like Autobots working with Decepticons.

SIA for me also.

I'm having some success with bikes currently as well. Rapid fire 2 SIA is powerful, especially on 5 bikes in rapid fire range.

SIA.

The versatility can't be ignored.

I play a lot against Jormungandr tactics. I don't need the 2+ wounding on gaunts, but the +1 to hit against units in cover means I'm hitting the majority of them on 2s.

It's also nice to be able to match the range of a heavy bolter with stalker bolters.
