SW1 Posted April 23, 2018 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Well Brothers and Sisters it's got to that time of year again. The mighty Captain Semper has once more thrown down the gauntlet. Who will hear the call of the Wolf and join the fight? The E Tenebrae Lux is upon us once more and we require the full strength of the Pack to go to battle. Will you stand by the side of your Brothers or will you allow our opponents to walk over us? It's the B&C's and possibly the hobby worlds biggest annual painting event, E Tenebrae Lux, is about to start on the 1st of May. I'll post the opening announcement at the end of this post. There's a thread in the Amicus Aedes part of the forum where you can find more information about the event and get in some banter. ;) All you need to take part are SW models in need of painting. To be eligible the models can be no more than basecoated/primed. So to get prepaired get those models assembled and primed!!! The point limit per vow is lifted completelty but the total cap on all vows a participant makes is set at 20,000pts. That means that a participant may split those 20,000 pts among his/her 5 vows as he/she sees fit! And before I get the obvious question, yes, you may do a single 20k vow if that’s what you want. In effect you have up to 20,000pts to manage via 5 vows. You can of course do fewer vows or fewer points. You can never exceed though the 5 vow limit or the 20k points limit. You can however reach the limit of 20k pts with less than 5 vows (or you can do 5 vows at less than 20k pts in total). 2. Five Factions: Adeptus Astartes Imperial Forces (IFOR) Realm of Chaos Xenos Age of Darkness (AoD) 3. There are three levels of collective performance: Primus Inter Pares: the Forum with the highest score WITHIN its Faction Dominus Exercitus: the Forum with the highest score AMONG ALL Factions (similar but not 100% like the Primus Inter Pares of old) ETL VI Magister: the Faction with the highest score among all Factions 4. The Astartes Faction will consist of SMs, BAs, DAs and SWs5. The IFOR Faction will include the GKs and the Deathwatch 6. IFOR Forums will have access (but not unlimited) to units form other IFOR Forums 7. Chaos is three Forums - not interchangeable 8. Aeldari is a single Forum (just to clarify) 9. AoD is split in two teams the Loyalists and the Traitors. Both have access to all HH units except those explicitly labeled "Traitor" for the Loyalists and those labeled "Loyalist" for the Traitors Remember, these are just some highlights - there is a ton of details still but feel free to ask any questions. SW1 Posted April 23, 2018 Author Share Posted April 23, 2018 Your first vow locks you into that forum for the ETL. Any painting you do with models that would be covered in another forum would not count to the ETL totals. What I've noticed is that the rules have been tweaked again since I first read the announcement. So now it's a maximum of 20,000 points over 5 vows but the maximum vow value has been removed per vow. This opens up the option of doing the bigger titans which total over 6,000 points each without loosing some of the titans total value due to a limit on the vow value. I have added so many Mk3 troops and Primaris and other Conversions since then... And I desperately NEED the ETL and some good, relaxing hobby time then! The first two weeks of May I'll spend studying and prepping and priming all models (which aren't ready already). For example, i have 10 PAWG with SS to vow but I have 10 plasma/melta/flamer/SB for them. Would I simply vow the meltas for the points or can i get the weapon cost for each? I had a mess of stuff separated, sorted, point costed and bagged for the last ETL, I'll drag that out and recalculate their points (and even legality) in 8th. I'm in.
