Success with all marines (no primaris)

Just curious if anyone has had some success with an all basic marine list?

 

I’m trying to make a list with no primaris units.

I tried it one or two times.

yes it could work, but it depends on your Opponents Army

I played against Eldar and got completely destroyed (nothing special considering that Eldar are the most OP Faction in the Game)

But against a Space Wolf it worked pretty well.

I personally would avoid Primaris Marines anyway, except Hellblaster they are just bad.

Sadly in this Edition Space Marines need other armies to compensate their weaknesses.

My last tournament list included only power/recon armoured dudes, half a dozen tarantulas and one custodes biker, and placed 3rd out of 18. The full list and event writeup is here, though it requires a certain chapter selection (Raptors) to work, and has taken a slight (but not ultimate) hit with the FAQ. Bottom line - marines won't wipe out top lists, but playing the mission can work well. Only primaris unit I used are intercessors, they are great skirmishers after all.
