ETL VI IS OFFICIALLY OVER!

NO NEW COMPLETIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED PAST THIS POINT!

That was a blast, but it's not over yet! I will go through all the Outposts to make a LAST UPDATE later on and then I need to compile the results and present them in a meaningful manner in the Final Report. This will come in a couple of days along with the relevant badges.

What I need is, after the LAST UPDATE, for each participant to check his/her status in the first page of his/her Outpost and notify me if there is something amiss so I can correct it. Do that publicly in the Outposts as my inbox is filled and I have no time to clean it up.

Once you check your status lay back and wait for the final report. If you have any questions feel free to raise them. You can freely discuss the event in your Outpost, post pics of your vows and generally have a great and relaxed time until the Final Report.

Congratulations to all!

Was anyone else twitching as Shas O R'alai kept revowing? :eek:

Well done to all who took part even if you did not manage to complete your vows. It was a good first ETL for the Empire

I would just like to add my own personal thank you to Captain S. for running the event again - always extremely well run and fun to enter

What would be nice if we can all take good quality photos of our vows as a permanent record and upload them here so we can later produce a collection as a keepsake of the event.

Bahahahaha. I know you all are used to seeing new members joining, only to never return. Not me tho! I wanted to make a good impression and leave my mark. Not going to lie, I had a blast. Especially the time crunch and the end :D

You don't need to stop now... I plan to keep at the T'au until I have a few more models from the backlog painted up ;)

I was just saying in general. I'm here for good!

Believe it or not, but I have a massive backlog of T'au (even more of Salamander [i will save them for the next decade]). This 4000 point vow merely put a dent in it haha. :D

As requested I have taken some nice pictures of my 5 vows, compiled my points and typed a small novella!
I put a tremendous amount of time and effort into these models. However, I couldn't have done this project without your help. From of the bottom of my heart, thank you Bolter & Chainsword, Captain Semper, Elmo, JeffJedi and the rest of the Xenos forum!
Completing this project used more products than you would typically think. I have only listed the major items and the products I had to purchase multiples of:
1) Badger Stynylrez Gray SNR-322: 200mL
2) Badger Stynylrez Metal SNR-212: 60ml
3) Badger Minitaire Coal D6-111: 120mL
4) Badger Minitaire Charred Stone D6-110: 90mL
5) Badger Minitaire Badger Fur D6-109: 45mL
6) GW Averland Sunset: 36mL
7) GW Yriel Yellow: 12mL
8) GW Lamenters Yellow: 36mL
9) GW Nuln Oil: 72mL
10) GW Reikland Fleshade: 12mL
11) GW Retributor Gold: 12mL
12) GW Martian Ironearth: 192mL
13) Vallejo Model Color Black 70.950: 17mL
14) Createx Colors Wicked Reducer W100: 60mL
15) Liquitex Profesional Flow Aid: 236mL
16) Liquitex Professional Gloss Varnish: 118mL
17) Liquitex Professional Matte Varnish: 118mL
18) B&J The Masters Brush Cleaner: 2.5oz
19) 200x 1mm paperclips
20) BSI Insta-Cure+: 30mL
21) BSI Insta-Set: 60mL
22) 3/32 (2.3mm) Aluminum Rod: 4 feet
23) 1/8 (3.2mm) Aluminum Rod: 1 foot
In addition to the multiple products used, I also tried new skills and techniques that I otherwise would not have tried. This challlenge made me want to present the best work I could produce. I know some of you might have been annoyed by me continually saying "Only the best for the ETL", but that is honestly how it made me feel. I am almost 30 and a lifelong goal for me is to obtain a Golden Demon before I turn 50. I still have 20 years to go, and challenges like this are going to help me obtain my goal.
Well, enough of me ranting and blabbing. Thank you again for all of the hard work and countless hours you put into this challenge Captain. It will be a highlight / personal achievement I look back on in life.

A big thank you to Captain S for all the hard work he puts into the ETL every time it is run and also in welcoming the T'au Empire into his heart. Maybe next time Captain S will see The Greater Good and join us

Now the Xenos... Well in their first ETL they managed to completed 71% of their pledged points, in line with almost every other Faction and in-line with the ETL average. But, as the community is still in its first steps in what is a predominantly still a "human" forum (after all, the B&C was subtitled "Armies of Humanity" before the Xenos were allowed in) their resources were materially lower compared to all other Factions. So lower number of participants and lower overall points pledged created an artificial ceiling of how high the Xenos' collective score could go. Could it have been better even with those resources? Sure thing! The Aeldari and the Tyranids significantly underperformed, creating inadvertently a mini challenge for next year! The Tau, Necrons and Orks on the other hand over performed showing that the core of the Xenos community is vibrant and there is a lot to be expected for the future! It must also be said that the Xenos produced some of the most impressive painting in the ETL...

Xenos Forums had their first ETL and that was fun because I literally did not know what to expect – there was no history, no known Forum traits – I didn’t even know who I will find in those uncharted waters. Imagine my surprise when I saw Elmo, a long-standing Dark Angels player and a member of the Inner Circle leading the Tau effort… And I thought Cypher was bad!

On a more serious note, let’s see them one by one and let’s start with the T’au, the champions of the Xenos Faction. These guys were phenomenal. We had a Manta (yes, a Manta) and a huge vow comprising super heavy walkers and flyers and even drones… all in yellow! What sort of crazy stuff is that? There were of course some who failed to complete their vows but despite that the completion rate hit 80% - a very strong number! And the re-vowing rate reached 92%!!! I mean they have virtually doubled their initial vows – now this is commitment, no? So, a well-deserved first place for sure.

We had a very high standard of painting and won the first Master of Xenos award of the ETL so we had a highly effective first year

All participants that vowed for the T'au Empire Forum are eligible to wear the ETL VI Primus Inter Pares - Xenos in their signature and wear it with pride

Also you can add the following completions badge

The Custos Fidei is available to all participants who completed all their vows during the lifetime of the event and even distinguishes the amount of vows that each participant made. If on the other hand, you have failed to complete even one of your vows, then the Oathbreaker Badge is for you, and you are required to wear until the year-end. Truth is, the Oathbreaker badge is quite nice, and many people wear it long after the required period!

IMPORTANT NOTE: IF you think your name is in the wrong place, feel free to take the badge you deserve and notify Captain Semper to change the location of your name.

For starters, thank you Captain for the countless hours you put into this!

Great job T'au!!! Very proud of everyone's effort. I'm looking forward to ETL VII! I look forward to serving our fearless leader; Elmo, and my fellow comrades; Jud Cottrell, Vay, facmanpob, and Melete on ETL VII Next year we are going for #4. Going to climb that ladder haha :biggrin.:

You do me great honor. I can't wait to get home (on the ambulance today, thoroughly enjoying reading through all of this data and charts while on standby) and add them badges.

For the Master Artificer poll, do I need to select a unit (KX139 Ta'unar Supremacy Armour) or would it be my entire submission? If it is a single unit I will post pictures of the left, right, front, top and back of the Titan. If it is the entire submission, I forgot to post detailed pictures of the Tigershark AX-1-0 and the Barracuda AX-5-2. Either way, I am eternally grateful for the honor of Custos Fidei, Forum Champion, Faction Champion and that b-e-a-u-tiful ARTIFICER badge :biggrin.:

Last but not least:

ONLY THE BEST FOR THE ETL !!!

Pick the model you think is painted the best - sometimes the smallest are the most striking.

If you are going to use the Tuna then make a collage photo showing the detailing as opposed to just a photo of the model on its own due to the size of it.

something like this:

My bad haha. Just finished reading the entire report posted by Captain

"Now you all have three days to provide me with the best pics you can take of your vows (make them large-ish) so I can set up the poll for all the B&C members to vote. They do not have to be pics of the entire vow - it could be a select few models or even one model that you are most proud of! In fact I'd rather you do that, and get a clear image of your best work in the ETL VI than try to cram everything in a pic and lose focus. Just make sure it's work you did during the ETL! "

I will take pictures of the Ta'unar, aka Super Tuna, aka Big Tuna.

:D

So, I decided it would only be fair to my Sept if I included everyone in the picture. With that being said, what is a Shas O to do?!?

This was my very first time (honestly) working with a green screen, a DSLR, proper lighting and Adobe Photoshop. I can now see why people get paid big bucks to utilize these skills.

Overall, thank you Captain Semper for hosting this. I have learned a great number of things over these past 3 months......and lest we forget......Knowledge is power!
