1500 Raven Guard List

Astartes Consul

Recommended Posts

I've been playing around with some options for my Raven Guard, and would appreciate any c&c on the list I've come up with below. Not aiming to be super competitive but rather legion appropriate and strong enough to be fun. The rough idea is it represents one of the Legion's 'decapitation strike' forces, but I didn't want to use that particular Rite of War!

I can not of the top of my head remember whether HH allows multiple Metlabombs to be used by one squad in combat as the ruling changed at least once if not twice, that said do you really need both Vetran squads to have them? You have a fair amount of antitank with your Jetbikes and Speeders already.

Nice overall versatile list, but I suggest you change out the multimeltas in the skyslayers to volkite culverins. The skyslayers excel as a mobile firebase that can easily move, find new angels and wash down the enemy from distance safe from charge range with heavy weapons fire. At 1500p you'll face mostly infantry, and besides you have quite a lot of antitank elsewhere in your list. Being T5 2+ They are statistically more difficult to take out with ranged weapons compared to close combat (shooting attacks from a unit being so much fewer compared to CC attacks). If you stay away from combat with them, and hose down enemy infantry with 12x S5 45" shots each turn you'll get much more mileage from them compared to three multimeltas.
