Vanguard Detachment

1 Chaos Lord w/Plasma p. & Balesword

1 Foul Blightspawn

1 Biologus Putrifier (warlord) w/helm

5 Blightlord Terminators w/Champion, Combi-bolter, 3 Bubotic axe, launcher, Combi-melta, Balesword,& Flail

15 Possessed

Supreme Command Detachment

1 Daemon Prince of Chaos w/Wings, Sword, & talons

1 Fabius Bile

1 Sorcerer w/Force axe, Bolt p., & Jump pack

And then his list...

Stormlord

3 Leman Russ' w/various weapons

6 9-10 guardsmen w/hot shot lasguns (super tasers)

3 Chimera

3 hq/characters.

We played Secure and Control with Dawn of War deployment. He deployed to my left a chimera (w/9 guard and an hq) across from and obj., another chimera (w/9 guard and an hq) center near an obj., his Russ center in his deployment on the 3rd obj, and his Stormlord (w/3 units of 10) right across from the obj. in my deployment next to some ruins w/his last chimera screening it. I put my possessed across from the left obj. w/Fabius 1st floor of some ruins, my plaguecaster center behind a container, 20 poxwalkers stretching from the container to some ruins on my right, Typhus next to those ruins, with my second 20 poxwalker, DP, rhino and sorcerer in those ruins (on an obj.) and my blightlords in space.

He deployed first, won the roll, and I failed to seize. I apologize now for not including pictures, but his army was all plastic gray on a city-scape board and it was tough to even see them.

Turn 1: He moved both his chimeras and stormlord straight ahead and proceeded to shoot, a lot, followed by some more shooting... He reduced the poxwalkers in the center down to 5 and blew my rhino away without a kaboom (all survived).

Fabius was able to enhance 14 of my 15 possessed with an extra attack, 1 just couldn't handle it. They then moved forward to an obj. and just under 8" from a chimera. Fabius ran to the container where the plaguecaster was hanging out, who moved to get LoS on the possessed and 2 chimeras. The 5 poxwalkers ran to the center obj. which was in a crater helping their save. Everything else moved up the right side towards stormlord, leaving the PM's on an obj. in those ruins w/Cloud of Flies. Got both Virulent Blessing onto my DP and then warptimed him next to the right chimera. Cast a bunch of mortal wound on the chimera in the middle and beefed up my 20 poxwalkers +1 S/T and -1 to hit. Charged with my possessed and DP, lost a second possessed to overwatch while the DP got in uninjured. The possessed got all 3 of their attacks +1 destroying the chimera as he failed exactly 12 times and were then able to consolidate into its passangers, he swings at me but fails to kill any. The DP attacked and this chimera only failed 2 of his rolls, taking 12 damage from my sword. He lost 3 guys along with it, I consolidated into the stormlord.

Score: DG 0/AM 1 (first blood)

Turn 2: He disembarks middle, falls back with his squad against my possessed, and his stormlord. He begins a whole lot more shooting getting my DP down to 2 wounds, killled 3 possessed, destroyed the 5 poxwalkers, and took out a good 15 from my other unit.

I moved my last 5 poxwalkers towards the stormlord, Typhus, plaguecaster, and Bile move center, DP, Blightspawn, and sorcerer move towards stromlord as well. I warptime the poxwalkers close the stormlord, Virulent Blessing my DP again, curse of the lepper and smite his guard in the middle to 1, and a smite to some guard by the stormlord. Blightspawn shoots the stormlord for 3, the plaguecaster shoots the last guard in the middle, Bile puts 2 wounds on the chimera, Typhus shoots the hq by the chimera for 2, and the sorcerer pops off another guard. I charge the possesed, then the poxwalkers into the stormlord (needing just 1 to make it so that he cant overwatch my DP). Success, 2 make it in. Then I charge the DP, this is when I find out the stormlord can still shoot (not all its guns, but still a lot of shots). I used a CP for a saving throw and with DR made it in with 1 wound left. The possessed killed off their side of the board, the DP was able to get 3 hits through its armore with his sword and another with his talon, for 22 points of damage. He lost 6 guard as a result and elected to take 2 from each unit.

Score: DG 0/AM 1

Turn 3: He embarks his middle hq and drives to where the stormlord once sat, moves this guard forward, and begins to shoot (just not as much). He takes out my DP, the rest of my poxwalkers, 3 possessed from his tanks, and does 2 to each Blightspawn and the sorcerer.

I take a good look to my right flank and see I have my warlord sitting in the open, my sorcerer in the open, Typhus in the open, plaguecaster, Bile, yep all in the open. Hes got 3 decent sized guard units on the right and a 3 russ' still at full health on an obj. I run my possessed away back to an obj, Bile and the plaguecaster run to the center obj (in the crater), Typhus and Blightspawn move towards the chimera with his hq in it (his warlord), PM's camp their obj. with CoF, and right before I jump my sorcerer I spot my Blightlords sitting on the edge of the table. Help is on its way, I jump my sorcerer into the ruins where the stormlord was and now stand 3 guard units. In come some Blightlords into the first floor of said ruins. I smite down the last chimera and make the plaguecaster -1 to hit, smite some guard and warptime the terminators forward. Shooting I take out his warlord with Typhus and Blightspawn, and my sorcerer gets the last of another guard squad. I then multi charge the back 2 guard units, making it into both. I kill off 1 and get the other down to 4.

Score: DG 1 (Slay the warlord)/AM 1

Turn 4. He falls back from the blightlords and begins firing, but now my blightlords are the closest unit. He shoots and shoots and shoots, when all was said and done I had 1 and half blightlords left. I moved Typhus and Blightspawn out of LoS from the tanks, ran my blightlords back into the ruins, and CoF my plaugecaster in the middle. I smited the last of his troops, made my CC squad -1 to hit, and hid.

Score: DG 1/AM 1

Turn 5. He had 3 Russ's sitting on an obj. and his only legal target was my CC squad in some ruins with a 2+ save with cover and -1 to hit. He shot and managed to kill 2, but it he couldn't get them and I just sat on my 3 objs (each worth 3 each at the end of the game).

Final Score: DG 11 (3 Obj., Slay the Warlord, Linebreaker)/AM 4 (First Blood and Obj.)

Sorry for the long read.

You can't warptime the just arrived termies. From rulebook FAQ v1.2:

"The rules for reinforcements say that when a unit is set up on

the battlefield as reinforcements, it cannot move or Advance

further that turn, but can otherwise act normally (shoot,

charge, etc.)

Q: Can such a unit move or Advance for any other reason

e.g. because of an ability such as The Swarmlord’s Hive

Commander ability, or because of a psychic power such as

Warptime from the Dark Hereticus discipline, or because

of a Stratagem like Metabolic Overdrive from Codex:

Tyranids, etc.?

A: No."

It was a fun game and I am going to stick with Fabius for a couple more. He only got to buff the Possessed and I got the +1A, which is what I was hoping for. Then again I was planning on him buffing my Poxwalkers too, but I lost so many so early he was out of range and could never reach them. I am also thinking with all the new reserve rules that a Land Raider might come in handy for my Blightlords. Will have to do some math first, but having some lascannons would be nice.

Not sure about the Landraider, especially the Chaos ones....still think they are overpriced and sub-par to their Loyalist Brothers.

With a Landraider, yes you could get your Terminators on the field turn 1, but you will not have the flexibility of keeping them in reserve.  I would rather bring my Termies in Turn 2 anywhere on the board where I think they are most needed (or Turn 1 in my own zone if necessary).

The Land Raider is a hard sell. It’s almost the cost of 2 Las-Predators, but half the shots of said predators (unless you take the Hellforged Proteus, then you can replace the heavy Bolter with another twin las).
