2 slightly different batches of cadian infantry.

Did the first squad (right 2 cadians) first and decided the base camo (caliban green) was too dark and blotchy.

Did the second squads (left 2 cadians) camo with death world forest as the base and did smaller camo strokes (they took forever!).

Both armours are loren forest.

Can’t decide on the gun colour, green or black?

Might do highlights, depends if I want to do those or move on to the other 60 men!

Also decided decorating the sides of the base looks pretty weird so won’t do that again!

Included my first model (17 years ago) on the right too. If you look closely you may find the hot glue holding him together!

Yeah I just hated the zandi dust colour scheme. Though the time it takes does make me regret it sometimes!

Any opinion on the gun colour?

My first attempt at a camouflaged tank. Learnt not to use a big black stencil first so now theres a big black patch at the front, might try and add some colour to it later.

Kind of regret not magnetising the sponsons so tempted to flog it and rebuild it!

I can see why the left two schemes took longer, but they really do look good for it. If you can afford the time and effort one of them would be my preference (second from left is my favourite). I think a green gun works, but perhaps better to have a colour more different to the armour, perhaps a darker green?

That said, your tank camo is excellent so maybe it'd be better to do the gun one of those colours to help link them together?

Tank looks great!

I offloaded all my tanks so I could rebuild and properly magnetise

Did you get most of your money back?

People on ebay seem to bid more for warhammer than they can get if they bought brand new.

I sold it to a friend I got probably ~60%? Of what they are new but they weren't in the best of shape and he was gonna repaint.

For a good paint job people seem to be willing to pay on ebay. However from what I've heard expect to eat ~15% of sale price including shipping in fees.

blown away by the camo on that russ. cant wait to see finished pics!

Cheers!

I used the tiger stripe Anarchy HD stencils (small and large). Spray it one colour, stick stencils on, and repeat with a couple of colours. Then peel them all off for the camo effect.

Though I messed up and used a big sticker first and now theres a massive black patch at the front which needs fixing. Learnt to start with only small stencils first!

  • 2 months later...

Trying out some Catachan vehicle camo.

Just needs a tidy up and the details highlighting.

The hardest part was making it different to my Cadian camo scheme!

Does anyone have any recommendations on the colour of the Hellhound barrels?

I'm thinking of doing the pipes a copper colour, but not sure about either silver metal barrels or red barrels?

  • 4 weeks later...

I need to shade the Valkyrie, drybrush it, then do all the detail on it and the weapons, but I may leave that till I actually need to use it.

Planning on having a 1000 point game so need to build/paint:

- Leman Russ Battle Tank or Conqueror conversion.

- 4 more squads of troops

- Commanders

- Manticore (turning out to be a nightmare magnetizing that, it's all done but now the missiles wont sit on the platform)

If you sprinkle characters and vehciles in between every squad (or even 5-6 models) it helps break things up I find :biggrin.:

Sadly every list I draw up seems to have 30+ infantry for each vehicle/character.

I have a problem.
