Warhammer sets, with revell paints and glue, scenery bits, a mat to display them on, and paintbrush. Now normally I'd shy away from such a thing but they're going for £17 on Amazon (only crop up every now and then). The best value is this one: so five monopose terminators, a dreadnought and some scenery objective bits for £17! https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/build_paint Wondering if anyone has bought them and knows more. There's no bling on them as they're generic, so they're easy enough to cut up cleanly if you want to repose them. And you can bling them up nicely to whatever Chapter you want. As for size, they're not as big as you think. Those pictures are on 25mm bases, and are around the height of a current edition tactical marine (non Primaris). They got scaled-up when the first plastic terminator range was released, and I think the chapter-specific terminators have also been getting slightly bigger over the years too. longjohnsilver Posted June 13, 2018 Share Posted June 13, 2018 I've got 3 sets ; the land speeder assault (older speeder without typhoon or tornado options, brush, paints, glue, objectives), the Ork gorkamorka trukk (4 Ork boyz, Gorkamorka trukk, brush, paints, glue) and the terminator assault, as pictured above. Speeder is currently about £12 but I got it more expensive. There are a few more like one with a single SM bike and an AoBR terminator. The terminators in Terminator assault are the older 3rd edition, not AoBR and they are smaller and thinner than the current terminators. That said they don't look too bad on 40 mm bases. They could be useful for people who still have the very old Space Hulk game. These kits were aimed at a European market, which is why we can only get them on Amazon. If I recall correctly there was a similar reboxing of old kits for the UK market, labelled as 'Battle for Vedros' which were available from Game, the computer game chain. I bought an old Ork wartrakk for £10, which is cheaper than the GW price. Yes it is a very old kit - I'm sure I got a set of 5 of these terminators back in the day. I have some deathwing knights coming anyway, which have dozens of spare bits as they make a few different units, so hopefully I can turn them into something decent. I do already have one AoBR Termie that came free with White Dwarf, and an old metal 2ed one but they're very static and obviously different sized. Elzender Posted June 14, 2018 Share Posted June 14, 2018 As some other frater have said, those terminators are the 2nd/3rd edition terminators, and I'm guessing the plastic version (I've got 5 of them for years, and I never got to glue them completely, I liked too much to play and repose them). DBadger, I must advise you that the newer terminator bits might look disproportionately big on these old termies, since they were almost the same size of tactical marines, just a tad bulkier mainly due to the pauldrons. If you do try, please share the results, I'm curious if it is possible to upsize them a bit (although with the years I'm learning to appreciate the older models, so I might eventually get some of them as a homage to old edition minimarines). I will also add spellcrow tabards which will bulk them out a bit. " So I'm assuming they had a job lot of extra frames for all those discontinued kits before switching to new moulds, and are looking at a viable way to sell them off. longjohnsilver Posted June 15, 2018 Share Posted June 15, 2018 The Battle for Vedros kits that were in Game were grey plastic, so they could be repackaged old sprues in new boxes but the Revell kits are : blue plastic for the marines, dark green plastic for Orks and black plastic for objective markers, so they might have been specially cast in coloured plastic as a job lot.
