Kriegs WH, AT, and Marines (update 01-01-19)

Recommended Posts

Hi all this is probably gonna be a long first post so apologies.

I recently got back into 40k with some Death Guards and have been documenting my progress with them in the DG section. As with another game system I play I can't stick with painting one a single army or else I'll get bored and lose motivation. So after finding an inquisitor model in a drawer I pulled out the old Witch Hunters codex from 3rd Edition. Always liked reading this codex and what it offered. I liked the idea of an Inquisitor calling in favours from different branches to bring together a small army by his side. So I spent the afteroon searching for all the units I had bought over the years and start painting up a Witch Hunters force. Decided to post them here to be seperate from my Death Guards.

I don't know if this force will work in 8th edition as allies or something but that's fine it's just a project I want to work on in between painting my Death Guard. Here's a list of what I have:

1 Inquisitor and his henchmen - This is the box set from I guess the same edition. Love the minis in it so picked it up. Had to replace the Inquisitors forearm and sword since I lost his original.

1 Cannoness, 1 Battle Sister with Simulacrum Imperialis, 1 Multi Melta Sister

1 Saint Celestine(the metal one)

1 Priest

2 Death-Cult Assassins

2 Squads of Battle Sisters

1 Squad of Kasrkin Stormtroopers

5 Flagellants I converted from the Sicarian Ruststalkers kit

1 Squad of Repentias

1 Immolator

1 Exorcist

To start off with i'll show a pic of the Battle Sisters finished. I'll be working on the Repentias next since I was in the middle of painting them when I lost motivation(big surprise). Apologies for the picture quality I only have a camera phone to take pictures.

Thanks for checking this out. :smile.:

Copper Adepta Sororitas are certainly a rare sight. May I ask why you colored their armor that way? Do they see themselves as "coppers"- enforcers of the Emperor's law, punishing criminals who escaped from the Adeptus Arbites, e.g., xenos, witches, and worse?

Thanks Bjorn.

I wish i was that good at thinking up fluff reasons but honestly i thought the copper and white would look together and i wanted them to look different from the usual GW colour schemes.

I like your idea though. :)

Not sure. I have a bunch of the Sisters in metal already. Maybe see what happens when the time comes.

Oh, you will defo love them :)

Until than, nail down your paint recipe so you can easily start :)?

Maybe add a nice Culexus Assassin? Maybe a few Custodes or even some Deathcult or Faith Militant troops (the latter could be build from the upcoming House Cawdor Gang; perfect for the usage in both games, 40k and Necromunda

My Repentia wouldn't be complete without their Mistress of Repentance so here she is. Was nice to paint I really like this miniature she's kind of bad ass. Been a long time since I painted fire which was my Inquisitors Acolyte so was fun to do again.

Up next will be the enforcers of my Inquisitor. The dreaded Inquisitorial Stormtroopers. *dun dun dun*

Using my Kasrkins(minus one because I can't find his backpack) as Stormtroopers. If GW ever release the original Stormtroopers in their Made for Order thing I'll probably snap them up. Always liked their look.

"Good guys wear white."

-Clone Trooper from Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds

It's been a while since I posted in this thread I've been busy with other gaming. I finished three of my nine Inquisitorial Stormtroopers recently so I thought i'd throw a pic up on here. I based the colours from the Galactic Marines in Star Wars Episode III. While I like the look and how I did them I really don't want to work on the next six right now so I'll be working on my Arco-Flagellants next. The second picture shows four of the five I made.

Thanks for checking this out. :)

Thanks Atia! It's been a while since I made them so going by memory.

Most of them are the Sicarian models. I took the sword arms(i think) and cut the sword off at the ball joint. I used the various hooks and chains I can't remember where but I'm assuming they're Dark Eldar bits. For the Flagellent that's primed standing over a dead cultist I removed the feet off him and another flagellant(not pictured) and used the clawed hands from the Scarian kit and glued them on as their feet for something different. Then used guitar wire that's going in the back of their skulls.

Hope this helps but I doubt it. lol

Just an update on one of my Arcos.  Was starting on the Arco before I realized I had to work on the base and Cultist first. So far I'm happy with everything although not to happy that the flash is making the blood next to forearm see through. The green ooze didn't turn out as well as I hoped using Nurgle Rot so will need to continue on that. Suppose to show the Chaos rot below the Imperial surface or some symbolic mumbo jumbo that I thought was awesome.

Anyways enjoy and thanks for viewing! :biggrin.:

On a bit of a side quest right now. Can't escape the lure of a cool Mech and so far Games Workshop delivers again.

Picked up a Warlord yesterday and already started putting the skeleton together. The legs were a bit annoying to put together but it's ok. The hip piece dried at the wrong spot it's leaning more to the right so it's a big awkward but oh well still look cool. :)

Unsure what Legio I'm going to paint him i'm thinking Praesagius since I was a big fan of the audiobook Honour the Dead among other things I loved the horn sounds in it reminded me of the War of the Worlds remake(only good thing about that).

Gonna prime and start painting soon.

Thanks Atia

Although i prefer the look of the Lucius pattern Warlord this pattern is pretty cool.

I am having fun with it so far but the legs were really annoying. I messed up the position of the right leg so the front shin armour piece didn't fit properly. So I grab my nail clippers and went to work on some armour pieces to give battle damage to the warlord. Will do this with more armour pieces as well as creating some damage holes in places. I'll see what happens as I move along.

Here's some progress pics.

Finally finished my Warlord. The most work I've done with a miniature in my opinion. Definitely the most work I've done for a base. Grabbed a couple strips of 6mm WW1 Germans and a WW1 British tank to both make a little diorama on the base and show the scale of the Titan. Tank wasn't Heresy enough so stuck a Soviet T-72 turret on top of it. Looks good enough to show off some soldiers from the Imperial Army(poor bastards) stuck in this eternal war.

Enjoyed it so much I'll be putting in an order this week for a box of Warhounds. Enjoy!
