W.I.P. Codex: Freeguild and Codex: Brotherhood of Steel

Recommended Posts

Hey, all, I really love the Freeguild and Ironweld models from Age of Sigmar/Fantasy, and I have begun converting the rules to warhammer 40k 8th edition. Any advise on how to make it more balanced and accurate, let me know. One big thing I am struggling with is making the Greatsword warriors good, I have them as a weakened power sword tzaangor, but I haven't tested balance on it. I want them between Scions and GSCs. Anyway, feel free to read and comment away, criticism and advise is welcome, purely negative or pointlessly mean statements are not. Thank you, all!

My second project is a custom faction loosely based on the Brotherhood of Steel from the Fallout series. I have brought them forward into the 40k universe and changed up the tech and weapons to work better in the 40k universe.

I don't think BoS power armour requires the fancy rules you've given it. T-51b was the best pre-war armour and yet by 40k standards it probably wouldn't warrant a 3+ saving throw.

Upscaling the BoS, I'd make T-51b the default armour and give it a 3+ save. T-45d would give +1 Strength but also a movement penalty. T-60 could give +1 Toughness, but also a movement penalty - this means all three armour types have a role in the army.
