Orpheus108 Posted June 29, 2018 Share Posted June 29, 2018 Greetings All, I'm currently building the renegade knight from the box set and wanted to fit it with my Pallid Hand army, and choose to go with the Rust Hounds but searching the web I've found nothing for a colour scheme for them. I've gone blank tring to come up with a decent colour scheme for them and was wondering if anyone has either a good scheme idea for them or painted a knight in Rust Hound colours. My knights are a mix of death forest green armour and rusted gold trim (Balthazar gold, typhus corrosion, ryza rust and Agrax earthshade). But this is primarily as it is similar to how I have painted my DG. They aren't however covered top to toe with sores and tentacles etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I was going to paint the shoulders in Pallid Hand colours as part of the heraldry with the Pallid Hand. I like the trim idea you have happyslugger, may have to go with that. happyslugger Posted June 29, 2018 Share Posted June 29, 2018 I think you are free to paint them how you want really. I went with green and rusted gold trim as I figured they would have deteriorated over time, similar to how the DG armour has (in my case anyway) turned green. I have kept some of the Admech signs/icons on mine as I understand that they originated from House Krast, but other than that their colour scheme is very similar to my DG but my DG are painted with DG green instead. I just haven't covered them in green stuff and things like that. They have some Nurgle icons and some Nurglings hanging from various wires and some bells I have got from the NBbringer and Plague Bearers. Still very much WIP. I am not a very good (or fast) painter, so simpler I keep things, the less of a hash I make of painting them. Hence they are not covered in green stuff or tentacles as I would mess that all up. I have also order the 2 different death guard knight face masks from shapeways, the death guardian face plate and the death guardian plague mask. Orpheus108 Posted June 29, 2018 Author Share Posted June 29, 2018 I'm thinking of using the spare head from the maulerfiend box, the one with the tongue, should look good if not I'll try and model one of the heads up to look all decayed. I'm a slow painter as well and not a great modeller, I'm just going slowly at trying small modelling bits first. And I was thinking since they were allied to mechanicus, I'll try and turn the dogs to show 8 for the 8 fold path, see how it looks and goes Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
