Unit suicide and VPs

Is there some clarification as to whehter victory points are awarded for slay the warlord or first blood if the unit in question is removed through actions of the controlling player (perils, overheating plasma etc.)?

IIRC being slain is not a defined game term and there are certain units that can come back after having their last wound removed, so when does the point get awarded?

Another example where it is not clear is if you slay the last pink/blue horror model in a unit and the controlling player still has reserve points to split the horror corpse. Does the opponent get awarded First blood after the last pink blue Horror is slain (the unit is completely destroyed at that point) or only after the controlling player either opts not to split or after the new models are slain as well?

Page 181, point 5 (inflict damage) states that when a unit is reduced to zero wounds it is either slain or destroyed and removed from play. Ergo, slain is covered.

As for when it happens, as soon as this criteria is reached, the above (i.e. Slay the Warlord) is triggered when you removed the model from play. If you have to (for example) "lie the model down as there's a chance it will get back up again" then Slay the Warlord has yet to trigger.

I found that too, but this only applies to shooting and melee attack. Perils and (infantry) plasma also explicitly say that the model is slain, so no problem there contrary to my memory. Vehicle plasma weapons however have no such wording. So what happens if plasma Björn's last wound is removed due to an overheating heavy plasma cannon.

Now it gets a bit rules lawyery, but can vehicle warlords be slain or are they destroyed? If it is the latter, does the opponent get a VP?

Celestine can come back after she is reduced to 0 wounds, however the rulebook says a model reduced to 0 wounds from shooting or melee attacks is slain. So when does the opponent get the points? Slay the Warlord and First blood are applied when the warlord/last model is slain, not when it is removed as a casualty and the Celestine rule does not say that she is not slain until after the roll. Merely the removal is postponed.

As I've mentioned above, the BRB tells you the outcome of when a model is reduced to zero wounds - either it is slain or destroyed - and what to do next (remove said model from play). Celetine's Miraculous Intervention triggers between these points; on a 2+ she gets up and you don't remove her from play. On a roll of a 1, she is removed from play which fulfills the criteria for Slay the Warlord. (i.e the model is removed from play)

For a vehicle is doesn't matter whether it's slain or destroyed, it's still removed from play and thus the criteria is met.

Slay the warlord triggers on the model being slain, not on it being removed as a casualty:

If the enemy Warlord has been slain during the battle, you score 1 victory point.

A model reduced to 0 wounds is slain:

If a model’s wounds are reduced to 0, it is either slain or destroyed and removed from play.

So by my reading the VP goes to the opponent as soon as Celestine is reduced to 0 wounds because  the removal is not a criterion for the rule, only being slain is and 0 wounds equals being slain.

Returning to Björn, being slain and being destroyed are different wordings and no rule says that they are functionally identical. Slay the Warlord only triggers on being slain, not on being destroyed.
