What would we like to see in Kill Team expansions?

A optional rules set for "Heavy" kill teams  with options for one or two larger models such as:

Wraith Guard/Blades

Terminators

Bloat Drones

Crisis Suits

Bikes?

I'm thinking still sticking to 4 wounds, I think dreads would be pushing it and crisis suits would need to be ballanced differently from 40k (2 weapons max MAYBE with a support system)

A Terminator Equivalent expansion... so, Loyalist and Chaos Terminators of different flavors, Mega Nobz, whatever lame weeaboo suit Tau have to match them, etc... maybe make it Space Hulk but not just Loyalist Terminators vs. Genestealers. As we've read in books (such as the Soul Hunter series) even Traitor Astartes explore Space Hulks and Orks even live on them. It could be a lot of fun.

I think it's a given that we'll eventually see flyers/jump infantry just because the rules for flyers are in the core rules. I'd also echo the sentiment that special operatives are an easy way they can add new things to the game without needing more model support. I'd also like more one-off models or kill team kits, stuff that we'd otherwise never see. Even if they'd never do, for example, an Arbites kill team, an Arbiter model that Imperium teams can take would be neat (see: squats and Necromunda). A Hrud merc, kroot auxillary species, Loxatl cultist, and many other things could be pretty exciting additions. Basically, I want more weird.

I like the idea of just terminator kill team, using a unit of just heavies for other factions doing a sweep through a ruined city or mechanicus area, would be fun. Seeing a unit of terminators vs chaos terminators in a city hunting each other or even the old rivalry of heavy necrons vs admech heavies in a admech landscape.

I'd like more sort of story element in kill team, using the other units, but only say heavy or fast attack units only included.

But that may come out with Rogue Trader to include heavies though

And I'd also like to see Renegades and Heretics out for KT too.

Honestly after playing 6 games on Saturday with various factions, terminator armor is a no go for me.  With the ease it takes to get the obscured bonus and the additional negative modifier for long range, half the factions hit on sixes.  Combine that with a 2+ save 2 wound model that ignores the penalties of their first flesh wound and things can get hairy.  It may just be me but being unable to kill a necron deathmark with 11 pathfinders seems a good enough cut off with regards to toughness.  That being said I would 100% like to see the "left out" models get released like mandrakes, striking scorpions, ratlings, kroot, etc.

Being able to take a terminator or two (and other races equivalents) would be nice in KT. Raptors and other jump pack units would be very welcomed to me. I am just dying to get my hands on a raptor armed with a plasmagun.

I really don't know about bikes. Most races have them or an equivalent, right? However, stats on elder jetbikes would need to be changed so they just can't fly across the board.

To be honest, I'd much rather see them expand existing factions than start adding new ones. I'm thoroughly, thoroughly disappointed with the decision to make kill team units have literally only the options that come in that unit's box. I'm most familiar with the MEQ fections, so I'll use them as an example.

It's ludicrous that the Deathwatch, who pull from almost all Space Marine chapters, are so limited. No bolt pistols. No chainswords. Combi-Meltas and Combi-Plasmas are okay, but Combi-Flamers are a no go. Astartes are one of the few factions with a medic unit that is represented on the tabletop (apothecaries) but are one of the factions that can't take Medic specialists. All in all, I feel like the highly diverse, highly unique nature of the Deathwatch is thrown out the window because of these constraints.

Similarly, I think vanilla Astartes are a complete mess under the current rules. Scouts make sense, as do Reivers, (as much as I hate all things Primaris) but the generic Tactical and Intercessor squads are a really terrible choice. The main units for Chapter Astartes should have been command squads, as well as Vanguard and Sternguard veterans. They're more unique, have more options, and as such have a lot more flavor. Comparatively, the normal battle company elements are far more bland.

Id like to see GW open up some of these constraints and fix the feeling of how limited some factions feel before pumping out new ones.

One thing which struck me is I'd love to be able to use my scout bikers, although such fast speed models do not feel quite suitable to such small a board. Regardless they fit in the theme of Kill Team quite well in my opinion, and I always love to see the Space Marine Scouts get some love.

If we're talking about actually new models I feel like the scouts could do with some new stuff with more pose variation and so on. No more suitable place for them than behind enemy lines.

Agreed on scouts. That's one of the older boxes in the Space Marine line at this point. I feel like they could do with a new one that keeps all their old options, and gives them access to some of the new gear the Reivers get, especially bolt carbines and grapnel launchers.

I'd love to see the XV 46 Vanguard battlesuits for the Tau (essentially a mini crisis suit meant for Space Hulks). I've heard about them for a while but they never received a model.

I'd also love to see some terminators for space marines and maybe Khorne Berserkers.

I also want to see some Kill Teams of One like they had in Shadow War. Cool heroes like assassins, Sly Marbo, and others. It would be cool to see a Space Marine hero or two that could be used for this as well.

I agree with Endova on more variety choices to build your kill team from. I don't like that some factions have four entries to choose from and others have only two.

And I strongly second hushrong's call for assaulters like raptors!

Grey Knights only have 1!

Would be nice to see assaulters. Knights could get interceptors then.

Other than that, my money’s for sisters when they get redone.

Actually, what about a Space Hulk Killzone?

As much as i like Terminators i understand the concern with them and game balance.
But going by the lore Terminators aren't the only ones who board Space Hulks and Genestealers aren't the only things found in them.

A Space Hulk Killzone could either be a reprint of the last lot of boards or a new square folding board. We could finally play out Deathwatch Vs Orks in an Ork Space Hulk, or Mechanicus facing the Genestealers as they strive to grab what tech they can before the Hulk is dragged back into the warp.

I don't have space hulk,so am unsure why you couldn't just use the that particular board with the current KT,ruleset.

You could if like me you own it, hence why I suggested the last board might be reprinted, or a new folding square one done, for those without a copy. But killzones are more than just a board, they have rules, missions and tactics cards specific to them.

To use Kill Team as a platform to test new armies out on the small scale. Kill Team has a lot more scope for those minor races and the like to be involved in the 40k universe.

So, broadly speaking - Imperial Organisations, Mercenary and Minor Xenos units, "Citizens" and "Scum and Villainy" (to put it my own words). Also I'd like to see "Brute" forces - weaker grunts for a specialised kill team to wade through, PDF troops etc. This could be combined with Necromunda kits and allow for a more varied 40k universe to be represented. I would also want to see locations represented in Kill team.

Imperial Organisations

Adeptus Arbites

Sisters of Battle

Rogue Trader forces (already confirmed)

Penal Legion Kill teams (hello Last Chancers!)

Inquisitorial Teams

Naval Forces (Boarding Teams!)

"Personal retinues" would be cool represent Assassination missions - think along the lines of the Venator gangs in Necromunda representing the myriad things we see in Novels - hell it would give more excuses for including Necromunda models.

Citizens

"Nobles" - Navis Nobilite/Ecclesiarchy/ Planetary Governors etc. Individual Forceworld models representing VIP citizens of the Imperium and releasing missions alongside them.

Mercenaries and Minor Xenos

Kroot! release the Hounds!

Tarellian Dog-Soldiers

Rok'Gol

Hrud

Loxatl

Renegades - not chaos, just a collection of scum and villainy that would allow for such things

Locations

Jungles

Cave Systems (Betrayal at Calth Board?)

Underground hives (use Necromunda board?)

Ships and hulks (yay boarding actions)

Xenos places - Ork towns, Eldar ships, Tyranid Bio Fleets, Necron Tombs, Daemon worlds and possessed places all with rules and using relevant scenery
