Suggestions for Daemon Support?

Fellow Maggotkin, I beseech of you for thoughts.

 

I'm building up more Daemon allies for my Death Guard, and need opinions on what I should get next. Currently my daemons force is as such:

• Rotigus
• Horticulus Slimux
• 10 Plaguebearers
• 3 Nurglings
• 6 Plague Drones
• also a Daemon Prince (but this one is for my Death Guard)

Or in other words: Rotigus, Blightwar and a box of Plague Drones.

 

I'm thinking of getting/making Epidemius, as well as getting some of the Heralds. This is because I'm doing an Apocalypse event on September 22nd-23rd. And I'm bringing the stink.

 

Opinions on what should be the next on my list?

 

Apologies on if this is in the wrong section. Now that I think of it, it should probably be in Chaos Daemons. But it can also fit in here... :lol:

Are you planning on running this as just Nurgle Demons or as a mix of Demon/DG?

 

I would recommend Epidemius in either event.

Actually, it was not. You only listed demons in your list and then questioned if you should post in here or the demon forum.

 

But regardless, I woudl recommend Epidemius. I don't know what point totals you are looking at but if you are going down the Nurgle Demon well then more Plaguebearers would also help.

Well, right now it's in preparation for an Apocalypse game. We're calling it 40k of 40k. So points values is not really an issue, seeing as how someone is taking a Warlord Titan.

 

But yeah. I'm thinking of something involving a few of the Start Collecting! boxes, Beasts and Feculent Gnarlmaws. Maybe a Soul Grinder as well?

I would suggest bumping up the # of plaguebearers as when they have >20 in the unit they are -1 to hit for shooting attacks. If you want them to accomplish stuff, then a herald of nurgle, or some other similar models to buff them.

I beleive the start collecting Nurgle daemon offer all the models you want as ally to your deathguard.

Adding gnawmarl to complement your daemon engine is a good investment, especialy in larger games.

The other daemon options are better if your focus is on them and not DeathGuard, I feel.

Well, I did just pick up another set of Nurglings, Sloppity Bilepiper, Spoilpox Scrivener and Epidemius.

 

But yeah. Once I get all the stuff I previously ordered at my FLGS paid off, I'll probably get two boxes of Plaguebearers and a Start Collecting Nurgle Daemons box.
