Its mainly the head bucket cover and the beer belly that annoy me. That being fixed, yeah its alright.

Reivers without the skull helms have grown on me.

But inceptors, never.

What if they give Inceptors dual power swords?

I liked the skulls ... and then I didn't. :) So my Reivers are going to be count as Scouts

I'm a greatsword type of guy.

I really would like a Reiver HQ model.

for that matter.

I would like a "build your own" commander.

(kind of across both space marines and tau)

- Choose armor, Reiver, Mk10, Gravis, Inceptor

- Choose armor, Scout, marine, centurion, terminator, artificer

- choose load out.

For SW, RG and WS makes sense.

Haha one of my favorite topics,  wishlist/theory

A new Codex for Adeptus Astartes.  The purpose is not to invalidate old marines models range, especially those who already have a gazillion rhinos/razorback/drop pods

  • Trim down the entire codex, reduce Codex Bloat
  • Remove Primaris unit entries in Codex, example Intercessors, Hellblasters, Primaris Lt etc etc  (with exception of Aggressors/Inceptors
  • Fold Primaris units into their OG marine units as upgrades
  • For example:  Pay X Amount of Points to upgrade Tactical Squad into Primaris Tactical Squad / Techmarines into Primaris Techmarines.  Applies to characters too
  • Primaris can be transported in current transport vehicles but takes up 2 slots.
  • A Primaris Tactical Squad would have access to all weapons an intercessor squad would have as well as ability to carry special and heavy weapons.
  • Example:  A Primaris Tactical Squad could be armed with maybe Auto Bolt Rifle and a Upgraded Meltagun so the entire Squad carries Assault Weapons.  While another squad that is geared towards defending a backline could be armed with Stalker Bolt Rifles and Upgraded Lascannon
  • Introduce new units

Basic wish for Intercessors is to upgrade their bolt pistols to heavy bolt pistols standard, and their frag grenades to the fragstorm profile. Just small boosts for situational items, but I'm scratching my head as to why Cawl would upgrade everything except those things.

Oh, also, Reivers would feel great as troops.

But they look cool.

Hmmm perhaps. I love the look of Tartaros suits, but the classic Termie design is a bit dated. I do like the new collectible models available in Japan however.

I don't want to see the same, non specialised units that comprise the normal marine range. Terminators aren't particularly good in combat or when it comes to shooting. If we get something that resembles a Terminator it needs to have dedicated shooting or combat capability and actually excel in those roles.

Ain´t terminators role basically to "soak up" firepower? I mean, that style of armor was originally made to withstand plasma reactors, or such.

looking at reivers again...

Reivers as they are should be troop options.

I really dont see a reason for them to be in an elite slot.

Definitely need more elite rules on their special wargear. Would get far more use out of that shock grenade if the effect lasted longer. Terror Troops should be far more effective as well - perhaps disabling the ability to fall back?

I've always felt the range of Shock Grenades are one of their biggest impediments. Extending that range somewhat could improve their utility somewhat.

Since BoLS rumour articles tend to have more in common with wishlisting than actual rumours I think it's worth mentioning they posted a new article that had one new tidbit I haven't seen before.

Specifically "A Primaris vehicle combo-kit with two large turret weapon options acting as replacements for 2 older Classic Marine vehicles"

My guess is they're talking about the whirlwind and vindicator.

That could get interesting...

I actually, if its true think it could be

replacing the Rhino/razorback.

A grav assault, rapid infil/exfil trasnport. vehicle, that has either dual Las rippers or something else.

read the bell of lost souls. hehe. silly.

primaris cqc with double thunder hammer option.

really? ok. and I can fly in real life.

-----------------

Shock grenades should be usable in overwatch. anything charging the reivers, on a 6 the shock grenade hits/effects them. debuffing the unit attacking the reivers.

Give Reivers AP-1 on their blades and a rule that prevents falling back and they're golden as terror troops that can actually also kill something.

They don't need to be an uber murder melee unit if the opponent is constantly threatened to have one of their units made 'permanently' useless unless he deals with the Reivers one way or another and with AP-1 they are more likely to deal some proper damage over time (especially in combination with their pistols) instead of just hugging their victims like overgrown teddy bears until the game ends (I'm exaggerating obviously).

The shock grenades are a bit too clunky to use as well, I agree. I think they should also make it easier to hit the target unit and also last for the whole turn instead of just that one phase so the Reivers could get near their victims and then disorientate them with their shock grenades so that either another unit of yours or the Reivers itself can take advantage of it with their shooting and following melee.

I don't think Primaris will get something like a Rhino/Razorback. The Repulsor is already something inbetween a Razorback and a Landraider and it seems more likely they would've given a dedicated transport like a Rhino before something like the Repulsor. I rather think GW sees the Primaris as a compact force that rides in with few Repulsors who can easily carry their weight even in small numbers and the battlefield role of a cheaper fast unit will be taken by something like bikes or a non-gravis jump pack unit instead.

Artillery tanks for Primaris sounds more likely in comparison to me but I don't give two cents about what BoLS writes until I see it from proper sources as well lol

As someone who loves Crusader Squads, I would totally use reivers as neophytes, without the stupid skull helms (that chaplains should exclusively use) and with a bolt pistol and chainsword. It's just an upgrade sprue away.

And since BoLS can wishlist and it's a rumour, here's one from me.

From "Industry Insiders":

We will have Primaris Company Veterans next release.

Mark my words.

(I also want to use Primaris with the new BT detach)

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this and I honestly can’t be bothered trawling through over 500 replies but a repulsor with loads of plasma cannons I think would be cool. Not sure how it’d work in the game but in my head it’s a beast!

I would love a few new Triumvirate boxes.

Could have:

The host of Sanguinius that comes with Primaris Dante, Mephiston and a new Sanguinor

The host of Dorn which comes with a new Helbrecht, Pedro Cantor and Lysander. This could be accompanied by a BT upgrade sprue which allows for a new Emperor's Champion to be converted from an Intercessor model.

They already exist, though - heavy thunder hammers for Deathwatch are a double-handed Thunderhammer option.

He said double thunder hammer, not double-handed. Huge difference. ;)

Just a blank banner would be good I think. We've all made due with freehand and transfers for the regular command squad for ages, we can do that for Primaris too.

I was looking at the sprue for the repulsor and noticed that one sprue is entirely turret and weapon options. That could just be coincidence that the sprue layout demanded that the main body and nothing else be on the first two frames, but what are the chances that they did that deliberately to allow for variations later on down the line? I could easily see them replacing that frame with something to allow for some kind of siege variant or a lower firepower transport variant or something.
