Kill Team Tactica: Harlequins

Just something I thought I'd share with fellow Harlequin enthusiasts.

I've been erming and aaring about a Harlequin Kill Team for a while now. Going through the various wargear options and doing some basic calculations, I realised that if you want to get the most chances of success with the Harlequin's Kiss, you had better put it on a Zealot specialist Player. The following math is based on the target being a Space Marine (or equivalent):

  • on a regular Player, ~0.67 attacks go through (4 * 2/3 * 1/2 * 1/2);
  • on a Combat specialist, ~0.83 attacks go through (5 * 2/3 * 1/2 * 1/2);
  • on a Zealot specialist, ~1.11 attacks go through (5 * 2/3 * 2/3 * 1/2).

Remember however that the Zealot special rule only applies when the specialist charges. However, given that Harlequins struggle with getting counter-punched and so must assure that each hit counts, I'd say that this is a good option for anyone wanting to create a Leader-/specialist-hunter.

Following up on my previous post, here's the list I have in mind currently. The idea is to balance a visually interesting Kill Team (i.e. with a variety of weapons) with close-combat power once they hit the table and their foes. Thoughts and suggestions appreciated. :)

Masque: Midnight Sorrow

Total points value: 100

Leader:

  • Player w/ Harlequin's caress, Shuriken pistol, Leader specialism

Specialists:

  • Player w/ Harlequin's kiss, Shuriken pistol, Zealot specialism
  • Player w/ Harlequin's caress, Shuriken pistol, Combat specialism
  • Player w/ Harlequin's embrace, Shuriken pistol, Veteran specialism

Non-specialists:

  • Player w/ Harlequin's embrace, Shuriken pistol
  • Player w/ Harlequin's blade, Neuro disruptor
  • Player w/ Harlequin's blade, Shuriken pistol

Gonna use this load out when I next use Harlequins. Just ordered a troupe box hope it arrives this week.

Well not being clued up on harlequins I see this as a great starting point in my games. I’m sure once I get to know how to play the players I can tweak it to my preference or leave it as is mate so thanks for the list.
