Edit: odd punctuation There's some lists classified as 'Guard' that are Guard + Bike Captains, but it doesn't look like the Custodes lists have much guard. Not sure exactly which he fought though. Xenith Posted August 22, 2018 Share Posted August 22, 2018 Thoughts? The alliance of Death Guard and Thousand Sons makes my skin crawl. Big combatty unit of PM's seems counter intuitive. No plasma guns or fists on unit champions. Weird, unoptimised list, but I'm glad the mass of wounds worked. Every once in a while I wish I had one, but more times than not, I don't think they are pulling their weight for me. Plasma guns are always nice, but I love me some Blightlaunchers! Agree, Launchers seem to be the better choice, but when you have the option for a third special, it's usually optimal to take it, no? Or is the extra body worth more than 1 MEQ kill per turn? Powerfists are in an odd place, especially compared to other much cheaper power weapons. If they still wounded T5 on a 2+ with no negative to hit, they'd be worth it, but I guess an abundance of plague weapons is enough to deal with high T targets? Panzer Posted August 23, 2018 Share Posted August 23, 2018 The biggest benefit of Powerfists is having a melee weapon that does multiple damage since all other power weapons only do D1 and Thunderhammers aren't available for chaos. Now since we're talking Plague Marines there's a very easy workaround for that tho. Just take Maces of Contagion, Great plague cleaver or Flails of corruption. Well there are two in the 20 man unit but yeah the 5 man units don't have anything for melee. I think that's fine tho.
