If Only.. Black Templars Dream Kill Team

Made up a fake list for Kill Team that Im using for home games.

 

Black Templars [99pts]

 

Leader

Chaplain [16pts]

Selections: Leader, Plasma pistol, Power Maul

 

Specialists

Crusader Marine Gunner [16pts]

Selections: Heavy, Heavy bolter

 

Crusader Marine Gunner [16pts]

Selections: Plasma gun, Sniper

 

Sword Brother [15pts]

Selections: Bolt pistol, Power Sword, Zealot

 

Non-specialists

Crusader Marine [12pts]

Selections: Boltgun, Chainsword

 

Crusader Marine [12pts]

Selections: Boltgun, Chainsword

 

Tactical Sergeant [12pts]

Selections: Bolt pistol, Chainsword

 

Notes:

 

- Chaplain/ Sword Brother has the same stats as a Tactical Sgt.

- Chaplain access to Power Maul only.

- Sword Brother has access to Power Sword or Power Axe (3pts) only.

- Crusader Marines can take Chainsword and Boltgun or Bolt Pistol.

- May swap out Plasma Gunner for an Apothecary with a Narthecium/Reductor (3pts), Bolt Pistol, Chainsword (Must take Medic Specialist.)

Narthicium: Grants a 4+ Feel No Pain to a single model within 3" OR removes a Flesh Wound on a 4+ to a model within 3". Apothecary cannot do both during a turn) Reductor: If a model is taken out of action during the game and the Apothecary is within 3", if a 1 is rolled for casualty rolls, reroll.)

In terms of Command Roster/Kill Team composition, what do the Black Templars need other than the ability to take chainswords in place of bolters? Why would the Black Templars have a Chaplain as an option when other Adeptus Astartes kill teams don't have independent character options?

Here what we should have in order of importance and likelyhood

1) Any Initaite may replace Boltgun with Chainsword

2) Replace the One Marine Gunner may replace Boltgun with HeavyBolter or Missile Launcher with 1 Initaite Gunner may take Heavy Bolter, Missile Launcher, Power Ax, Power Fist or Power Sword

3) Replace one gunner may take Grav/Plas/Melta/Flamer with one Initaite may take Flamer/Plasm/Melta*

4) The Squad should have access to combat and zealot

5) Properly pointed and stated Neophytes. I.e LD6 and 9 points

6) The Sgt/SB should be able to take TwinClaws.

 

That would recreate a Crusader Squad in its rules entirely. With lack of GravGun being the main exception. But I took it out because not on the upgrade sprew.

Wow.. I actually for once super agree with everything you have listed Schlitzaf! Nicely done! I hope you've sent that to GW's killteam support! I will send that in too so theres more voices!

 

Plus I hate creating a more accurate Black Templars Kill Team using the Heretic Astartes lists and making them all Khorne.. I always feel like its full on heresy and an angry Chaplain is watching me..
