Deredeo Weapon Options

I have bought a Deredeo Dreadnought with Plasma Cannonade for my Dark Angels but am looking for advice on the secondary weapon to pick.

The twin heavy bolters seems to me like the weapon I am going to get the most output from, given their range.  However, the heavy flamers seem like a useful deterrent to small assault units that are looking to stop my Deredeo from shooting by tying it up in combat.

While I may be getting less output from the heavy flamers than the heavy bolters, they may help the plasma cannonade do more over the course of a game.  That said the heavy flamers do cost more points that could be spent elsewhere more usefully perhaps.

So I guess the question is if in my position which option would you pick?

Heavy bolters are the way to go IMO. If your Dorito is charged, it probably means your back line is already in trouble.

On the other hand, bolters give you 6 shots a turn that can put a dent in most lightweight units.

Not to mention with intractable, you could withdraw and shoot anyway.

Besides, having a screen of Aggresors will probably offer better protection than a couple heavy flamers. 17 points each is too much for a "what if" scenario.

Thanks for the replies.  I must say I was reluctantly leaning towards the heavy bolters too.

While I take the point about my backline being compromised anyway if the deredeo is charged, it is worth noting that with the range of the plasma cannonade it will probably be deployed quite aggressively making it more open to early charges than perhaps would normally be the case for a fire support unit.

I hadn't thought about intractable, and it does allay concerns a bit.  That said I am reluctant to move the deredeo if possible due to the risk of mortal wounds, and there are plenty of uses for command points if I can save them, so it isn't without its downsides.

I think what settles it really is the points cost of the two options and the potency of the heavy bolters.  If the heavy flamer was the cheaper option I may have been more tempted.  As it stands I can't help but think that if I opt for heavy flamers I am getting a weaker choice at a higher points cost.  While I would have to factor in the cost of infantry support, it is unlikely I would have the deredeo operating in isolation anyway,
