Diagramdude
When a guard character suffers a wound, based on the text an Ogryn Bodyguard within 3" has to intercept it on a 3+; it is not an elective choice. How does this work if you have two Ogryn Bodyguards within 3" range of the suffering character? Do you get to choose which Ogryn tanks the wound? If the first bodyguard fails the 3+, can you try another 3+ with the second bodyguard before the character takes the wound? Ogryn Bodyguards are becoming more competitive in the meta because of shieldbreaker missiles on the Dominus Knights, so I'd like to get familiar with all their rules interactions. Halfpint100
You could choose. Though not sure about the rolling twice... that mental imagine is hilarious though of 2 massive abhumans jumping in front of bullets
duz_
I dont see why you couldn't choose and use both if one failed...? Check the FAQ they did clarify the perpetual body guard loop so there might be clues there :tu:
Mileposter
This came up in a game with three of us rules lawyers in attendance. Much fun ensued with the discussion - and this is what we settled on: Quoting the FAQ: ‘Roll a D6 each time a friendly Astra Militarum Infantry Character (excluding Ogryns) loses a wound whilst they are within 3" of any models with this ability; on a 3+ the Astra Militarum character does not lose a wound but one model with this ability suffers a mortal wound.' Emphasis mine. You roll each time there are ANY bodyguards nearby, meaning you roll only once no matter how many bodyguards are next to the character. If the roll is passed, you then get to choose which one model with the rule gets the mortal wound. This means that having multiple bodyguards is more effective having them cover multiple characters. duz_
I can get behind that MP! :tu:Generally my rule of thumb with rules these days is the lesser impact the more likely GW intended it that way If it seems broken, it probably is And thats based on GW's fairly active FAQ'ing this edition and how they've responded so far
