Grey Knight Terminator Prototype Paint Scheme Study

Hail Brothers,

Inspired by James Wapples red grey knights he completed some years back I decided to go with a similar scheme. This is a prototype paint scheme study. I really like the red as it coincides with Inquisitor color schemes. Was thinking of writing up a back story and call this group of grey knights The Red Order (maybe?).

What do you guys think?

He looks good, but there will be inevitable questions regarding how he fits in-story. Will you say he's a member of a special anti-Tzeentch unit, and add blue (anti-Khorne), black (anti-Slaanesh), and gold (anti-Nurgle) Grey Knights?

First off, it works. The only part I'm not sure of is the purple cabling. For some reason that doesn't seem to mesh to me right now, but I'll come back and see if I change my mind.

 

Secondly, you  did a really good job on the red. Really good. I could see in other figures where you could vary the areas that are red vs. silver, so that you get a little visual variety if you decide you want some individualization.

 

I say go for it.

I see what honda means about the cabling. Maybe if it was darker it might look better ?

I dig it, and that's some damn good painting. It's like if the Inquisition arranged to get some Aegis armor for the Red Hunters or Exorcists chapters.

Interesting idea. I like it. However that power cable has to go. Id go possibly with blue (contrast and matches the power glow from the eye lenses)?

Nice job! I really like how the color change excentuates the face plate. As others have said too that red is indeed super smooth and nice!
