Joukernaut Posted August 13, 2018 Share Posted August 13, 2018 (edited) Hey everyone, I debated about starting a thread like this for several months and finally decided to go for it.I'm not a fast or talented painter by any means, but I do enjoy the hobby. I have around 7000 points worth of painted ultramarines.Not all of these units are painted to the same standard, not all have decals and some need the rims of their bases painted black.All in all, most units could use some work and I have decided to go back and touch everything up and varnishing them afterwards for added protection.When I finish a unit I'll put pictures in this thread here.There will of course be new units here as well when I get to them. (there's several thousand points of spurs laying around somewhere).If I can find out how to create those fancy links some other's have in their threads I'll try to do that as well. Hopefully this will be an ever growing compilation of ultra's. Hopefully you may find it interesting or entertaining to take a look, maybe you could spare a few advices or have some tips for me as well. Joukernaut Posted August 17, 2018 Author Share Posted August 17, 2018 (edited) A quick showcase of my first kill team conversion. A tactical gunner with the heavy specialism. There's a story why is modelled the way he is. He's been posted on a deathworld for years along with his friend (my next kill team project). He recently was recruited for the kill team since he's the best heavy bolter shot in the company. He chooses to partly wear power armour to be mobile and remain a decent shot. That's why I gave him the scout bolter without backpack, the bare trigger arm and power armour cary arm. I'm contemplating reinforcing the power armour arm with a small hydraulic bar to help carry the weight of the heavy bolter. My work name is Marius Blain. The pose is bluetacked so I can still change it. What do you guys think? I decided not to weather him and just put a coat of varnish on him. I've only really used him once, I play casually most of the time and in small casual games he is just devastating. I really like the Tac Squad, the second is superior to the first one you posted but both look great.
