Great stuff mate!

Thanks Freedom!

Very fine work, brother:thumbsup:

Thank you brother Lunkhead!

That Tiggy looks awesome. I'm going to try and convert a Primaris Tiggy soon, just need to aquire some bits.

Thank you for the very positive feedback Ishagu.

I'm really looking forward to your take on a primaris variant of Tigurius.

Hope to see it in your thread soon!

@Bloodwolves

Here's the recipe for my blue:

  • macragge blue spray paint
  • Altdorf guard blue covering most of the macragge
  • Then a layer of Calgar blue covering a great deal of the altdorf guard blue, mostly on the raised area's where the light would catch. (I'm not sure wether the tacs have this layer)
  • Then a glaze of Hoeth blue on the highest parts of the model where you think the light would catch.
  • Followed by an edge highlight with Vallejo model colour sky blue.
  • Last step in the blue is lightly glazing the entire model with Guilliman blue.

I usually pick out the recesses with nun oil or a random blue ink after that, but it's not really necessary.

And here's the recipe for the gold:

  • Basecoat of Abaddon black
  • Balthasar gold covering the black basecoat
  • a nuln oil shade entirely covering the balthasar gold, to define the borders of the gold
  • Gehenna's gold covering most of the Balthasar gold
  • A shade of Agrax earhshade or Seraphim Sepia covering the Gehenna's gold
  • Followed by an edge highlight of Vallejo gold

The gold will probably look more or less the same with less steps.

I hope this helps!

It's been a long time since I actually finished anything, so I figured I'd do a quick finish of a project that probably won't see a lot of gametime, since he will mess with the new codex rules. It's a shame, because I really like fielding him.

Hi guys, I've been gone for a very long time, dabbling in other armies and experimenting with painting techniques and have shamelessly disregarded my ultramarines. Recently I made the decision to keep my ultramarines as firstborn and then took a couple of the intercessors I had painted up to duo some experimenting. Then I was kind blown away by the result and I want to achieve an army with the look I created by putting an oil wash over my regular paint job. I'm torn between throwing the wash over my firstborn or going back on my decision and add Primaris to my army. I wonder what the community thinks, so please take some time to give me your own personal opinion.

Here are some foto's of the experiment:
