So I'm building a list (just doing it from the book with pencil and paper, no apps or anything) with maulerfiends do I add two lasher tendrils at 12 points each to replace both magma cutters (equalling 24 points) or so I only add one at 12 points that replaces the magma cutters?

You don't have two lashe tendrils. The Datasheet says "This model replace both magma cutters with lasher tendrils". That's a single entry, so you pay only once for it. Hence why you get only 6 additional attacks and not ridiculous 12 lol

But you do pay for both magma cutters though? I got one of each.

Yeah because it's two separate magma cutters and not a pair.

Yeah, the magma cutters arguably aren't worth it this edition.

 

The Maulerfiend fist and 1 set of lasher tendrils keeps the model fairly cheap and emphasizes its role in melee. Many is the time that either my fist or my tendrils whiffed. But it is rare for both to whiff in the same combat phase.
