MadGreek Posted August 16, 2018 Share Posted August 16, 2018 So, Looking through the Codex to decide how I want to build some Terminators. There is a Terminator Combi-Weapon list in the Armory section of the Codex (Combi-Flamer, -Melta, -Plasma, and Storm Bolter). Some Terminators are armed with Storm Bolters, some with Combi-Bolters. Those are basically Storm Bolters by another name. NO WHERE do I see an option for arming Terminators, ANY Terminators, with any other kind of Combi-Weapon. What am I missing? Panzer Posted August 16, 2018 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Why do you think you're missing anything? Our Terminators simply don't have the option to take other combi-weapons. You look at Chaos Terminators, SW Wolf Guard Termies, and Deathwatch Termies and they get waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more mileage simply due to their ability to mix-n-match weapon loadouts. Even the mighty Deathwing from the Dark Angels who are supposed to be the premier Terminator unit in 40k is restricted with weapons options (though they can put LC or TH/SS in their stom bolter squads and vice versa). CaptainHelion Posted August 21, 2018 Share Posted August 21, 2018 With Cataphracti and Tartaros you can do a certain amount of mixing and matching, but only with CC weapons, stormbolters, and a few heavy weapon options. It's better than regular Indominitus Tactical and Assault Terminator Squads in most respects, but both squads lack the durability of the Stormshields the latter Indominitus squad can take. What makes CSM Terminators so good is being able to give every single one of them a special weapon, usually Plasma. Also that their Codex has way better Stratagems to support them like +1 to-wound and double shooting for Slaanesh Infantry.
